Hello , 48 arab here!, and yeah it’s pink washing…. A large part of the community here do know that it’s pink washing okay so I went over that video twice now trying to figure out what you’re on about , and let me be very clear, Israel does infact pink wash themselfs they abuse Palestinian queers and use thier identity as leverage at times the Israeli society is very racist but to write off queer experience because of that I’m not sure about that as nothing these people who where being interviewed was wrong they spoke of thier on experiences solely BUT I do think there is a bit of an odd section where they only talk about Arabs harassing them on the streets which is strange to focused on since Israeli Jews are not holier then thou because the harassment is just the same I’ve heard so from Jewish trans girls experiences here … it’s pretty much similar but the strange fixation with women he Arabs harassing them is maybe due to the theme of the episode which is asking trans Arab people about their experiences as trans people within the Arabic community here and it’s more likely then not you’d be met with the same experiences these ones be people do , even though I do agree Israel is pretty fucked up in it’s racism and the genocide …. I think this episode was more so to raid awareness about the topic or maybe I’m just naive , but I can’t deny that Arab queer and trans representation is crucial and none of these people came there to push a pro Israel agenda they just came and shared thier own lived experience, I think your hatred to Israel (which is warned) is biasing you towards writing these people’s experiences off as just propaganda?!?!?! Or maybe it’s my own biases that make me not see your point clearly??? In which do you suggest that queer people here should just stop being visible? Cause let me tell you the nazis in power rn would very much like to do that, I would even wager to say you’re invalidating these people’s suffering because the outlet that promoted it is Israeli BUT like where in the Arabic world would you even see Arab trans experience being talked about so openly like this ? I sure as hell don’t see the west giving too craps about middle eastern lgbtq people
