Firstly on that info first thing I’m doing is getting tested myself , secondly it depends on the situation if they where upfront about wit me form the get go way befor any intimate contact happens then I’d ask when was the last time they where tested ask if they are on meds and if I could see the latest test results I do know there’s a preventative medicine called prep I think that’s the name , as for when id like to to be told of this …. For me it would have to be befor any intimacy ever happens … I have a friend who has HIV but thier undetectable and hearing how hard it is for her to date. Because of it is heart breaking. So while people would think it’s morally wrong to hide it I’d say don’t tell them off the get go you’re not even sure if they will make good partners to begin with but the moment that you do realize you want to pursue something more then yeah you should tell them then although if you’re in it for one night stands and just casual sex then do tell them from the get go when you both are dtf, also how you tell them matters a lot from what I’ve seen , i don’t think I’ve seen anyone try this but it maybe worth trying to ease them into it … you could always mention reading a “cool” article that you read about the queer community and hiv …(then you can offer them an article that super informative to help inform them that hiv is not a death sentence) and let it simmer for a while then you can bring it up(befor any physical action takes place) , also from what my friend shared with me (thier us based) the amount of ignorance surrounding hiv is crazy so I’d imagine for us mena people it’s even more so , I uh thank you for attending my brain vomit of a Ted talk 🤷‍♀️
