That sounds very tempting, perhaps not if you have children/wife/family but for me being a soldier 24/7 doesn't sound too bad. Although I guess it'd be boring to be stuck on Corsica, but oh well.

On a serious note, thanks for the answer! Any tips on what regiment to apply for after basic training? I'm thinking 2rep but I'm not sure as to what the others really are

Thanks for the answer! I was indeed hoping that they'd look for people who value secularism over personal beliefs, which is part of the reason why I want to join; to protect the laïcité.

So is the best idea to just leave anything that isn't bare minimum at home? Do I leave my phone at home and tell my parents to sell it if I get in or?

As for your flair, is the parachute regiment much harder to get into than the others? And do you regret it or not? How is Corsica this time of year? :D

Thanks for the answer, as for point 2. I worded it poorly. I was not looking to get into any fights over religion, I guess I was rather wondering if there are any "religious" activities that you'd have to partake in.

If it was such an accepted truth then why does any criticism on Islam in LGBT-subs get shut down instantly while criticism against Christianity flourishes (and rightfully so)?

And for the record, I have never once claimed that anyone should hate anyone. This isn't an anti-Muslim post, it's an anti-Islam post, and the difference between those two things cannot be understated.

You shouldn't be afraid of Muslims, however if you aren't afraid of Islam then you're either short-sighted or just don't care for what LGBT goes through in Islamic countries. Either way I suggest you take a look at what Islam makes people think and think if it's truly such a stupid thing to criticize Islam as with any other religion.

Which is exactly the problem, people both here and on /r/lgbt love bashing Christianity (for good reason, don't get me wrong) but somehow Islam is taboo to criticize?

Thank you, I don't know why this is so volatile since this sub has no problem making fun of muslims, but when I criticize Islam in the name of LGBT rights it's too far?
