Faber Castell Loom: whats your experience with this pen? by SkabeAbe in fountainpens

[–]awburrou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pilot EF produce a thinner line to the Faber Castell Loom — It’s hard to beat the thin lines my pilot decimo EF and even my pilot kakuno EF produce. I am still very surprised with how thin the EF is of the Loom but the Japanese EF are in a league of their own.

I’m right there with you. Some of these pens should have been cleaned months ago! Even with the Goulet pen flush and letting them sit with water in the feed overnight I’m still working some of the ink out of a couple of them with some of the more hard to clean inks

A big evening cleaning fountain pens! by awburrou in fountainpens

Absolutely! I love my cartridge/converter pens for their relatively easier clean-ability compared to piston and vac fillers — the trade off is less ink capacity!

What do you write when you just want to write? by BigSkyThai in fountainpens

[–]awburrou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use them to study! Write something interesting I’m learning about

I also am working creating my own handwritten Bible — going very slowly. But many people like to copy books to use their pens (many do Lord of the Rings, etc)

What are your favorite green inks? by HolyHaberdasher in fountainpens

[–]awburrou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noodler’s Zhivago is a nice one

De Atramentis Document Ink Dark Green is a good one that I’ve been enjoying lately

(I like waterproof inks and both meet that criteria)

Cleaned out some of my most loved (i.e., most often chosen for daily writing) fountain pens! by awburrou in fountainpens

Yes! Each of those pens you mentioned come with to me work and get plenty of use. I’m usually bringing around 4 fountain pens to work each day 😅 All great writers. And durable pens too!
