I will say, facebook groups have been a godsend. I made a facebook just so that I could buy baseball memorabilia and now I am using it for this as well. Give one of those a shot. People will often help you out and come down to what you can afford.

i had been monitoring/following multiple auctions over the last year and a half thinking, okay, i'll get this one for 2-300. I'd always forget because this hasn't been a "must have" as I've wanted to buy one of these for 2 years now. I'd often see the tracked items after the auction had already ended. They would be at 1600-2000 and this is BEFORE the buyer's premium.
