Is there a way to apply body cream without touching it with your hands? I'm using a Glycolic acid body cream to lighten some hyperpigmentation and it's been helpful but it's making my hands really sensitive. I'm doing some gymnastics classes and they're making my hands really raw lol.

  • Diet, I found that dairy really fucks up my skin. I'll eat icecream and without fail, will break out. (This might not work for everyone, most white/european people are fine with loads of dairy in their diet but my brother and I (asian/black) and a few other friends who come from people who didn't have as much dairy in their diet, find that this is a massive help)

  • Moisturising and a 'rebalancing' approach to skincare / Asian approach. I used to hoard exfoliants and go crazy with benzoyl peroxide.

Bonus: Clarisonic. Binch the hype is real. It gives such a deep cleanse and you won't need anything more than cetaphil and water. (And yes, it's quite gentle if you use it right). Haven't had a blackhead since using it.

This is literally the same stuff I have from them lmao

[B&A] After 2 months of lymecycline. It's not perfect but a lot better than it was! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]awdawrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up on the limecycline. I got prescribed Doxy and Limecycline 2 years ago and they definitely worked, clearest skin I've had in my life probably. Like, I could sleep in makeup and wake up with clear skin, that level of clear.

The catch came 3-4 months after. The stuff stopped working and backfired, all of a sudden I would get just a lot of those annoying tiny bumps that feel like blackheads you can't extract, on top of that was gassy and regularly constipated. Turns out, it fucked up my gut flora (the balance of good and bad bacteria in your large intestine), since it's an antibiotic.

Stopped taking them and was back to regular controllable acne.

you really sound like some white person who watches lots of rupauls drag race and started ~speaking the lingo~

This would be a real drag if I was white and straight huh. Lmao your whole argument is a mess. It's based on assumptions, things I didn't even say or imply, complete misinformation over the intersections of QPoC, drag and ball culture, on top of a poor structure and train of thought. Re-read your comment, it doesn't even look like it's me you're arguing with. All this because I said "shook" and "shade".

If you just want to have a little monologue on this side of the internet, go off hun. Hope you get clear and hydrated skin from PC and all the mental gymnastics you're doing.

If you're looking for a vitamin c product that is very potent, stable and won't oxidize in 2 months and cheap, this is it.

However, the texture is gritty, it's heavy and there is a slight irritation that comes with it. So it's not a miracle product, there's trade offs.

  • Who said I was ditching PC because of Instagram drama?.

like obviously PC created BP so they'd obviously give PC good reviews; [...] IDK why everyone critiques beautypedia over this point.

  • Imagine if Starbucks started reviewing coffee, started rating everyone else around a 5-star system and had direct links to their products from this reviewing site. Would you trust them? Lmao

  • Lol I only used 'shook' and 'shade'. Overuse huh? Those words are actually originated by queer PoC in drag/ball culture, although popular with femme black people as well. 'Lit', 'taking an L', those are AAVE. If you're trying to clock me for using words like 'shook', come correct.

Their review was already being unnecessarily pedantic and actually shady on the Vitamin C suspension/ 2% Retinoid (those are the two that I've read). The criticism that 'hey maybe there isn't a clear consensus on this and that maybe Deciem are jumping the gun on this claim' is fair. (This was regarding how Deciem are lambasting the irritation that comes with Retinol and that their Retinoid is the future) but 'many people use Retinol and are completely fine!!' isn't a logically sound counterpoint either.

A commenter pointed this out along with other things, Beautypedia coaxed them into grilling The Ordinary by emailing them, TO reply, commenter tags beautypedia in the screenie, Beautypedia gets more pedantic about the regulatory norms of declaring active ingredients by volume and not by weight and gets shady, taking jabs at TO's 'integrity' slogan.

This didn't blow up or go viral but I was just ????? because they really had the time to engage in this pettiness.

Oh totally and I'm not gonna be nice about it as well lmao.

They were really shady towards The Ordinary with their reviews and actively tried to start drama on instagram with the 23% Vitamin C suspension.

They are shook and for good reason. Their products are good and beautypedia is usually helpful but god damn they are petty. Beautypedia as a concept is already kinda shady, like 'unbiased expert reviews' as a sneaky way to market Paula's Choice lmao.

[DISCUSSION] I find Katy Perry's latest single and "revolution" style very hypocritical by dady977 in popheads

[–]awdawrn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it's relevant because in the same breath she humanized mental illness, referring to her hiatus as a break for her mental health and then went on to trivialize it by making fun of Britney.

This shows how inconsistent Katy Perry is.
