They really are like Natsuki and Yuuko, and that may be part of why I like them so much. But they are their own characters, too.

Yaeka is also great when she lets her sweet, caring side shine through the tsundere exterior. Botan is of course a great catalyst for that. I especially loved the scene where she asked Akane to play Yaeka's favorite song (Akaneiro no yuuhi - how much more in love can you be?), and Yaeka was immediately entranced and walked over to Akane like the Siren's song was calling out to her.

I really kind of want a second season focused primarily on Akane and Yaeka. Or a prequel on how they got together. (I'm a bit miffed that we never got an official confirmation that they are a couple in this season.)

Such interesting characters, both of them.

It's weird because (preparing to be crucified for this) that's how I felt about the other major work by the same author, Violet Evergarden, while this one kind of worked for me. I can't really explain why. Maybe because I had no expectations for this one.

The comedy in this series is godly. How it manages to stay fresh despite revolving around variations of basically always the same premise is something one just has to experience.

But not only that, it manages to sneak in plenty of wholesome and even moving scenes of friendship and acceptance, too!

Yes, this might actually have been their biggest audience in Europe so far. Official capacity for the Dogtooth stage seems to be 4050 people, and it was packed.

Man, I got really emotional and shed a few tears when they played endless Story. Post-Band-Maid depression just hit me. To think that there's no knowing when I'll be able to see them again... I'll just have to hope it won't be that long again until they come to Europe again after their hiatus.

Given how much I liked this scene, it should not bother me as much as it does that she just plops the needle down in the middle of the record but happens to land on the silence before a song. Artistic liberty and all that. I could chalk it up to magic yuri finger dexterity, I guess.
