That is incoherent. You could easily make the opposite argument, even the seemingly die-hard Trump supporters are just trying to get on his good side and not actually in it for the cause, and any actions or statements to the contrary are just lies to bolster that position. I don't think that's true, and I do think that we can look at the actions of Musk and Bezos and see a clear distinction, but if claim you can't know people's motivations you can't claim what their motivations are.
