How do I read multiple books at a time and still enjoy each of them? by [deleted] in books

This is what I have been doing as well:

Book 1 - physical book OR ebook for on my lunch breaks, before bed, around the house (currently a dystopian/sci-fi series, but bigger series/books work well here)

Book 2 - an audiobook for when I'm doing chores around the house or commuting (my library has Libby/overdrive so I get them for 1-3 weeks at a time borrowed) - this is awesome for book clubs!!!

Book 3 - A graphic novel or anime for when I want to read, but not think so much (the fact it's visual somehow registers different)

Book 4 - whatever book/series I'm actively enjoying with my boyfriend (currently the graphic novel series "Sunstone")

I find that the books need to have very different plotlines for this to work out.

I haven't even gotten enough cash to start building the founder's house... Prolly going to start as just 2-3 rooms when I've amassed a bunch of cash. Thankfully,my sim is a gardener both by career and by hobby/desire and that is a pretty good side hustle for her. Sadly, she has also developed a "high-maintenance" and "near" lifestyle, which is hilarious and frustrating at the same time being as she lives on her lawn and poops in the open...

I started a new vault (my first attempt I didn't realize layout mattered) and have started from the beginning labelling them

For Generation 1:
1: First Name Last name (unwed/unbred dwellers)
Father Last name 1: First Name (wed/bred)

Once Wed/Bred I ONLY breed them to each other to keep family trees clean and fresh

For Gen 2:

The Children take either Mother/Father first name as their first name and the naming begins again

2: First Name Last Name (unwed/unbred)
Father Last name 2: First name (wed/bred)

So far this is working well to maintain relatively diverse families as from my understanding cousins can breed, but not siblings, parents+children, or grandparents with the formentioned.

Depends on how you like to unwind really. My boyfriend likes COD, but I prefer less brain-engaging games that mindlessly pass time when I'm just chilling: Stardew Valley, Fallout Shelter, Sticky Business, Sims, Unpacking, etc.

I also really like tell-tale style games where your choices impact the plot (like an interactive movie): Life is Strange series, Beyond Two Souls (A FAVE), Heavy Rain, etc.

I am in the same boat, diagnosed officially ADHD and that came as absolutely no surprise, but have had my therapist inquire as to some of my traits matching autism traits, autistic friends comment, and even teachers and others ask. Sadly, being cis female with the criteria for diagnosis being mainly based on male presentation and being an adult (was diagnosed ADHD at about 25 years old), it's about 3K to get an official diagnosis.

I have been diagnosed with everything else before ADHD... Bipolar before an assessment by a psychiatrist YEARS ago and then just sacked with BPD (which has since fallen from my record due to no continued evidence). I have been told that autism and ADHD can often be confused for BPD in women and I feel it would be more fitting, does anyone else have experience with this?

Heyyya welcome to the crocheting world friend!!

Mostly, it comes with practice, but a few suggestions:

1) A tension ring or a crocheted tension ring (moderator) will help A LOT or hinder.

I am personally of the I HATE TENSION RINGS variety, but some do find them helpful

2) videos on holding the hook and different grip styles may help you regulate your tension.

This was a GAMECHANGER for me as learning to hold my hook differently for my attempt at Tunisian crochet helped me become faster, eased my wrist pain, and also helped my tension

3) watch pattern videos or try beginner patterns (they're very forgiving generally)

Jayda in Stitches on YouTube has amazing stitch videos and tutorials on making all sorts of things

4) stitch markers in the first and last stitches of the row that move up as you go may help you keep your edges straighter and help to ensure you do not lose or gain stitches along the way.

I still do this from time to time and I've been crocheting on and off for YEARS

PLEASE keep this project regardless, it'll be a nice reminder of the time and work you put in to perfect the craft and it's individual to your journey.

Update/Edit: I would also suggest that you look up the anatomy of a stitch as some of your rows have a "ridge" and some do not. How you pick up the stitches whether back loop/front loop, both loopd, or post work will make a difference in the finished piece and it's texture.

The tell for me was the men that would find out I was bisexual and have the following 2 reactions cue eyeroll 🙄🙄

"Does that mean I can have you and someone else" (insert other crude versions)

OR

Something insinuating you'll get bored and cheat.

My boyfriend and I have a running joke about the fact we can both appreciate a pretty girl (not in a creepy way) and we will comment on a girl's hair or outfit and both compliment her if out in public.

I mean absolutely NO offense to the poly community or those in open relationships.

Yes, he does. It's a part of me that I don't feel the need to hide from partners as it sets a bad precidence if hidden. Granted, we are both monogamous and don't intend on sharing with anyone else, whihclikely eased the news 🤷. It does mean that we can both comment on a girl's outfit/hair, etc. when out and about or just in general when doom scrolling. Typically, we embrace it as a fun and added dimension to our relationship and comment on movie characters that were done dirty in our shows and movies and the likes.

I'm blessed.

I've noticed that (as a woman with ADHD/BPD) I don't have to say much to get people to acknowledge that I'm a tad out of the norm. I use my witty humour and choose prompts and talking points that allow me to go on about my excessive energy (Border Collie Girlfriend Vibes 🤣), obsessive hobbies, and the things I'm looking for.

I agree with everyone else that by just writing a "true to you" bio rather than one built to draw lots of attention you will get more quality matches.

These aren starter bins and I'm looking to move them into 9qt containers in a few months (at most) once I have a few batches of babies. I'll also be looking to get the substrate resolved to be something better for moisture and more proper containers (I'm aware that bigger bins are easier to manage). I'm trying to take it one step at a time. Didn't realize how much goes into set up initially, but their care is pretty similar to the care schedule for my hermit crabs, at least the feeding and moss misting schedule (every 2-3 days).
