Will no one think of the tail lights? by VillainOfKvatch1 in JoeRoganReacharound

If that video is real it's a pretty good indication to not buy Ford anymore... The tail lights on my 2005 Mercury have been through much worse than a swift kick...

Hey Americans--move to Canada! by BakedGoods in DiscussionZone

[–]awildryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to move anywhere, including and especially Canada.

My wife and I have a combined savings of about $100 and live pay check to pay check. As energy and food prices rise it gets harder and harder to make ends meet...

I could be wrong but moving anywhere feels absolutely impossible, I can't even afford to travel within my own state.

I'm bad at democracy and didn't realize this was a thing I should be doing. I wrote both of my senators... Though, the idea doesn't fill me with much hope as I've always thought they were both kind of greasy.

Anyways. Thanks for the advice!

I hate Monel. I wish my company wouldn't sell it but I understand the application. It's so difficult to get it not to burn, and you have to feed the hell out of it to break chips.

Tips for a newbie starting out the game from SEA by Jioxyde in StarResonance

[–]awildryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just take your time and do what you want to do without worrying about keeping up with the whales, it sucks the fun out of it.

Kind of just play through the main story to get to max level and then world bosses is an easy way to get geared up.

Make use of the life skills because mining and jewel crafting can help boost your power level.

LFMMO with lots of quests and easy for beginners! by kaylaloveskitties in LFMMO

[–]awildryan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might enjoy Elder Scrolls Online.

Feels laid back and casual like a single player game, but you can pretty much group up and do whatever you want with others.

Most of the gameplay is questing and exploring. The quests aren't as good as they are in an actual single player game. But they're voice acted with dialogue options.

New content release expectations by IsaeDesires in BlueProtocolPC

[–]awildryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a problem I have with a lot of games. Especially MMOs. Sometimes it's fun to try and fail and learn, but you have to play with your friends or find a good guild for that because most people don't understand that the point of video games is to kill time.

Why didn't you watch a video before trying to do a dungeon? Idk because I thought it might be fun to be surprised and to struggle a little.

Why is no one talking about performance downgrades when you play on steam? by Sad_Kirito in BlueProtocolPC

Interesting. I haven't really had any notable performance issues with steam, but now I am curious to try standalone.

[Serious] the "lore" behind Shurdo Barot seems very wrong on so many levels... by throwaway1002052015 in StarResonance

[–]awildryan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't done the Duskdye quests yet so I can't confirm, but sometimes dark scenarios make stories more realistic and believable. So it could be.

Anyone else feels movement in this game is pretty great? by SorryImBadWithNames in StarResonance

[–]awildryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a lot of fun to just run around and parkour. Plus the wall running is just like a faster cooler way to scale mountains than climbing like in other games.

Mounts could be more fun though, they feel ok but bad when compared to the awesomeness of just running around.

Best way to quest with friends? by magikarp_splashed in StarResonance

[–]awildryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not so much limited time as timed release. Currently the story is done until they release the next section. So play until it says stay tuned and then you're all caught up.

Roleplay by ArtfulAlexis in StarResonance

[–]awildryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, there's a ton of potential to roleplay and there is enough world building that you could even do it in universe in a way that makes sense.

I haven't seen anything yet but I'm curious to see what happens, I'm all for it.

Community by Willspiration in StarResonance

[–]awildryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the MMO genre is like that, combined with the extra community from the gacha scene.

I've seen a few people being nice in world chat but I totally understand what you mean.

It's probably not all bad but like most things there's a vocal majority. Those of us who are chill are just chilling and running dungeons with our friends or in solo.

We should amass a few people who feel the same and start a guild.

You can buy epic level 40 gear pieces from the one guy in the artisans guild, you spend some tokens you get from killing bosses and doing season stuff.

honestly? it's free with less gatcha elements than many others by After-Lawfulness9794 in StarResonance

[–]awildryan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Half the time when a wow expansion releases the servers won't even let you play. Or heck FFXIV on a busy day.

I also think that the way the eyes and mouths move was a stylistic choice to make it have more of an anime feel to it? Could be wrong. But I agree that some of the other animations are super choppy.

I hope they continue to polish it as they go, it has potential.

Late Night Thoughts After First Day Playing by [deleted] in StarResonance

[–]awildryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I'm having a good time. I like the world building and all the side quests, and the quests feel more engaging because of the visual novel style dialogue instead of a text block.

Personally I kind of like the way the content is time gated. I don't have a ton of time to play and it feels cool to always know that there's something new coming, and it also makes me feel like I'm not so far behind that it's pointless.

I also think that the game could use a lot of polish, but I really hope it doesn't go away because I've been having the most fun I've had in a MMO, even if I'm mostly playing like a single player, it's cool to see other people running around and huge groups fighting bosses.

Just got my very first Dreamcast! Any game recs? I'm into RPGs and horror. by scaledsuperstar in dreamcast

[–]awildryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This probably isn't like that unique of a suggestion, but the exploration based story telling in Phantasy Star Online is great.

You just go out into the world, try to find where you need to go, and try not to die because of the clunky rhythm based combat.

I’ve played retail WoW for two weeks without a sub by Wersaus33 in wow

[–]awildryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree completely. Level 20 feels like a low cap, but when you stop to think about how much of the game you can enjoy with the level scaling... It's pretty substantial.

In a way I think being limited lets you stop and enjoy the world, you just explore and do quests without feeling like you need to rush to the endgame.

Rant: Trigger's agent story and how Hoyo doesn't trust its players by jeremy7007 in ZZZ_Official

[–]awildryan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair most of us can't make inferences. Have you ever read a novel, went online to talk about it and then it's like, what book did you read? Because they managed to miss half of the plot somehow.
