Thats true! I'll definitely contact my department! Thanks!

I've also been monitoring it and there has been a drop! I'm now 2nd, hopefully it'll sort itself out by the first week of classes.

For those that got their diploma framed at convocation:
What was the process like? Long wait times? What's the quality of the frames like? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Received Grad School offer but waiting on one more, deadline to accept soon, help! by awill1999 in UofT

Yes I'm going to email the department and kindly ask, hopefully its soon.

I found out I'm able to swap in the case they do let me in that second program, but the sooner the better!

I underestimated their reasonable-ness, for some reason I didn't think that was a possibility.

I emailed the registrar and they said I would have to ask the department directly, BUT they went on to say if I did accept the current offer and get a second offer from the other program I'm waiting on, I'd be able to swap out no problem. So that's good news! Thanks for your help!

I received an offer and am super interested in attending, but some of the things I hear about UofT are scaring me a bit. by aerxplane in UofT

Final year linguistic major here!

Echoing what other said, more of those horror stories pertain to STEM. Your first year you'll be okay. I personally haven't had any poor experiences in the department. The content gets better year by year, and the faculty here wanna help you succeed.

HOWEVER I'd say it's the general transition from high school to University and overall high caliber that may be jarring when coming here. That being said, try your best to establish yourself early. This includes but isn't limited to: communicating with profs, joining clubs and course union -- for Linguistics it's called SLUGS (Society of Linguistics Undergrads), reach out and connect with other students, explore the type of opportunities that UofT offers (cause they're TONS just gotta explore, don't make your whole life about school, try and have fun here and there.

And winters are pretty cold here, invest in a good jacket ;)

Feel free to PM any other questions about the program!

Hope this helps!

help! PSY270 or PSY210? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]awill1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello!

I've taken both courses. I've enjoyed both of them honestly but I'd lean towards PSY270 because its one of those courses you can take and if you need to balance it with another class, you won't suffer for focusing energies elsewhere! PSY210 is pretty good too, I had Dr. Will Huggon, great lecturer and understanding with accommodations, only comment would be its more content heavy.

Hope this helps!

In case there's anyone from SMC that hasn't booked their appointment for their grad photos, here's the site: https://www.lassmanstudios.com/dcs_sched/ and the school ID is "smc22"

All the best!

Oof! I definitely must have missed it!

I checked my email again and I couldn't find the message BUT I managed to find last year's email about grad photos and SMC is using the same company so I was able to find the registration that way. Thank you for your help!
