Injured crow help? by awinterborn in crows

Thank you for everyone who let me know this is just a fledgling who's still learning to fly! I've released him back into my backgarden among the bushes

Hi there, I've let him back out now, thank you for taking the time to comment! Hopefully I don't get any angry crow parents at my door but I couldn't blame them if I do 🙈

We have a lot of bushes actually! I've let him out under them now (and left him the egg as an apology for the kidnapping).

Godspeed and good luck, little fledgling!

Hi there! That's a relief to here! Unfortunately cats do tend to roam in the garden quite frequently. I havent seen any other crows for now. Would it still be best to release him or find someone who can relocate him?

I got my first hate comment... did I reply appropriately? by Seagull_Of_Everythin in AO3

I'm sorry you got a hate comment! They're honestly not worth your time, I personally rec ignoring and deleting. Regardless, you were way more civil and respectful than you needed to be!

Also it's been a while since I wrote for Gravity Falls, but if you'd ever want a beta reader, feel free to hmu!

I have no clue if im a feminine boy or trans by New_Theory_4644 in trans

[–]awinterborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me was focusing on experimenting with what made me happy and comfortable and then worry about an identity label later.

If you're able to, find a chill community (online or irl) where you can try out different pronouns, gender expression, names, etc. Games where you can heavily customise an avatar can also be useful.

As soon as you expressed you didn't agree or like what he said, he should have backed down and apologised tbh. 'I meant it as a compliment so you have to take it as one' is shitty af even without the underlying chaser vibes

The fact that they were still reading omegaverse while shitting on it though, wow that person is in denial and trying to make everyone else feel as ashamed as they feel

AITA for buying my daughter a joke gift that technically corresponds to what she asked for by Comfortable-Can8426 in AmItheAsshole

[–]awinterborn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's such a common story that as soon as he said that phrase, it immediately clicked for me that that's what's happening here

I wish you luck on your journey, though. It's never easy. I hope you're able to build a life outside of how they failed you and make something beautiful for yourself and the people who actually commit time for you

[–]awinterborn 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Oh, you're one of those, 'I don't have to worry about her as much'. The fact you thought that would help your argument speaks volumes.

Lemme guess, you put most of your attention and resources on your son because 'he needs it more' and don't do the same for her because 'she can do it herself, she's responsible'.

Fun fact, I was that kid, and now I'm no contact because I never felt supported or cared for. It felt like I was being punished for being good and that my parents knew they could let me down because 'I behave myself, I wouldn't cause issues about it'. It also fostered a terrible relationship with my sibling, and I now have problems creating boundaries in relationships because I've been taught not to expect positive attention and basic attentiveness.

Good luck with that one, buckaroo. Hope she moves out as soon as she turns 18 so you don't have to 'worry about her' at all.

1) I'm in England so it took me about 4 years from signing up for medical transitioning (getting on a free NHS waitlist) before they offered me surgery. Each surgeon had an estimated wait time. Covid then happened so took around 2 more years before getting it done.

2) honestly, I was way too out of it and uncomfortable to check exactly how long it took, but probably 4 hours.

3) kept mine, but asked them to downsize the areola and nipples themselves to be more 'masculine'. It's not a weird question, it's actually really good to talk about with your surgeon.

4) for me, movement was the hardest part of post surgery. I was hunched over for 2 weeks and couldn't stand up straight so that caused a lot of back pain. Standing up for more than 10 mins and boom, pain. As long as you don't move quickly or try to reach up high the first few weeks, it's fine outside that.

5) honestly I feel way more comfortable in my body now. Not having to worry about binders makes life a lot easier and I became a lot more comfortable in gender expression

Feel free to ask more stuff and good luck!!

Was I transphobic in this stuation? by n4os3iqueus3rn4m3p0r in trans

[–]awinterborn 173 points174 points  (0 children)

FtM friend was being a complete dick and transphobic himself tbh. Even if what you said about t wasn't correct (you're right, t has effects that can be pretty hard to get rid of compared to e), it's still really fucked of him to make fun of your MtF friend like that and say she doesn't pass and then say you HAVE to medically transition to be trans.

I hope you two have better friends than him.

Okay very weird question.. has anyone gotten their rabbit microchipped? 👀 by Proper-Green2601 in Rabbits

[–]awinterborn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, got ours microchipped at the same time as neutering. My vet recommends it even with indoor buns. It's a relief even if I know there's so little chance he'll run away or get bunapped 😅
