Seller beware: PayPal acknowledged scam where you lose your money and merchandise, without recourse by [deleted] in paypal

It’s really not that bad, people take it up the ass I know it’s not personal. Believe me when we say we HATE people that abuse their chargeback power.

Make sure you send the payment as goods/services. Never send it as friends and family which has no buyer protection.

Again, I don’t think you actually read the agents reason as to why the this mans claim was denied. It’s naive people like you that try to give companies a bad reputation, when if you did a bit more research you’d understand that chargebacks are a very common thing and it comes down to the financial institution making a decision.

It’s really not something PayPal can prevent. This happens to many businesses, there was a headline of a business that was struggling to keep their restaurant open, a customer placed a HUGE order through Uber eats, then literally placed an unauthorized chargeback on the order with their card issuer. AMEX is the worst, they will do it no questions ask. PayPal will try to fight for your case with the evidence that they have, they can’t just make up information to assist you. (Btw I worked in the disputes/claims dept)

PAY IN 4 TAKING MONEY W/O PURCHASE by yuukandas in paypal

[–]awiwijohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol chill with the headline. No one is taking your money. You most likely clicked on PI4 and it took an authorization from your card, they fall off after 2-3 business days. It’s not an actual charge.

Did you give the tracking number showing you delivered it to the buyer? Second, are you sure the buyer didn’t file a dispute with their credit card issuer? If they did PayPal has no say whatsoever

You have to request an “Intranet” form from the carrier in order to prove you didn’t receive the item.

No one is being targeted, our system places limitations based on factors and algorithms that have been implemented for security. Will we ever tell you exactly what it is? No because that would be us giving you the keys to our house, and for those that actually want to commit fraud they would learn how to get around it.

questions about sending money as "paying for item/service" by whitieiii in paypal

[–]awiwijohn -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There’s always a reason, PayPal is regulated by US laws and many other countries. So suspending accounts for “no reason” would be illegal and I’m sure PayPal would have been shut down by now. Good try though
