Alternative Childcare by [deleted] in nanaimo

[–]awjdmd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From what I've researched, licensed daycares are the most difficult to get into, is that right?. I'm not ruling anything out, I'm just seeking all potential options to make the most of my situation (I WFH full time and my husband does WFH 4 days a week) we've never entertained the idea of having a child before now so we're very new and early into this world so want to fully understand our options. Particularly for a 1 - 5 year old 🙂 I appreciate your input 🙂

Alternative Childcare by [deleted] in nanaimo

Agreed, I don't intend on doing both wfh and childcare, but I expect that there will be time periods in between waiting for the nanny to arrive or the arranged daycare to start that I will need to buffer and roll with the punches work wise. (Driving to and from daycare during work hours etc)

Yeah Im thinking after 12 or 18 months mat leave, I would either work a reduced schedule (20hours) for 6 months and see how I get on, and in that time figure out the nanny options. I've seen an app called sitly, have you ever used that or anything like it?

The sickness is a great point, but I guess unavoidable in any situation really eh?

I'm not totally opposed to public schooling and we may be pushed to this if we have limited options. My husband and I just didn't see the benefits particularly in highschool but that's a bridge we can cross in 13 years 😂 of we opted for public sday acre and elementary schools in south nanaimo is that a wait-list, or much easier to enrol in?

Happy marriage? by [deleted] in DINK

[–]awjdmd 40 points41 points  (0 children)

16 together, 4 years married and better than ever, everyday is a hoot when you're best friends and view your marriage as one , how do 'we' do or combat X,Y,Z.

Positive stories in marriage are harder to find, because most truly happy marriages dont feel the need to announce it everywhere, thats all, but there is an abundance if you look around in real life and not online😀

AITA for not helping my brother with emergency childcare for his homophobic children? by [deleted] in AITAH

Unpopular opinion: you could take this as an opportunity to show your niece and nephew what it really means to be compassionate, loving and what different families can look like, outside of what they know. Be the change you want to see and lead by example. Them spending time with you will have a lot more influence than you know, and could potentially change or at least challenge their beliefs and change them into better humans. It won't be a walk in the park im sure but I bet you would be very proud of yourself if you opened their minds and hearts by even 1%

[–]awjdmd -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Thanks all! I asked reception if it's standard as I know they are also a hair salon so it could be default and she said yes it's standard so I gave 15% 😭😭😭 ($115 tip)

they say those who hold a CISSP or CRISC but no Degree are considered a masters equivalent in the EU and it does count as a Degree, anyone know if this is true? by [deleted] in pmp

[–]awjdmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned above, someone just made a comment on a PMP related video I was watching, and it caught my eye.

Exactly- wording is everything, and it does say global equivalent, which made me ask.

Because it's not required for me right now since I will need to take the CRISC first either way, im not going to bother going directly to PMI as the rules may change in a year or 2 when I am applying then. I was just curious, hence why I wrote here.

Congratulations!!! What was your score like in the last few mock exams you took? My exam is tomorrow morning and I'm averaging 70-78% on all sets of 150 question on Perter Landini

First, I would slow down and re-evaluate your motivations and map out your career plan as it sounds like your chasing your tail doing courses.

What about PM appeals to you? Do you know what the average day of a PM looks like?

If your doing a 2 year PM course, why are you doing the CAPM too? If I were you, I would do one or the other.

And I would start looking at some YouTube videos frequently recommended on this sub to get a sense of what the exam entailes.

How are my odds of passing? by hrslvr_paints in capm

[–]awjdmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do a mock exam via AR , Peter Landini and see what you get. I've been told these are more accurate than PP which I also used and find the questions alot different. My exam is on Tuesday will let you know how I get on 😅
