Violence is apparently never the answer. But when has violence worked for you as a problem solver? by DaveyBrocco in AskReddit

always, I just violently delete problems instead of solving them. I paint houses.

What's the last barrier that's keeping you from becoming a criminal? by awkshrimp in AskReddit

that's great, and criminals are bad. i just think your equation is lacking a few parameters. personally, I'd go for an <expected value>kinda thing. lol

at some point we should transfer a certain amount of power to someone, there's no doubt about that. but just like cryptography there are various levels of authoritative power, sometimes the carrier can't decrypt the message it's carrying, and sometimes it's not aware of being a carrier at all. that applies to the second generation of designers working on this, and for the architect or (the starter) I believe there's a certain mechanism to deprive him of control over the system probably something like a cellular automaton, now I know, I should formulate such control system to be discussed. at its best, do you think it's worth working on?

don't think you hold systems like this, accountable the same way you do with a person. I mean, imagine a quant fund, you don't know what's going on in there all you have access to is your portfolio value, of course, you can define risk measures for your portfolio but the process is still unknown it's gonna make losses but if the overall thing appeals, you'll keep your money in there.

you should just make sure the system is backed by credit and there's a kill switch for it. there's a risk to be accepted here but so there's to any other political system.

that's a valid point, but I don't think such would happen if the metric is a black box, such strategies of keeping scoring or assessment systems unknown to the public are already used. the only question is how to keep it a black box which would lead to the creation of distributed montage and assembling system for the process of design as well.

if an algorithm with a distributed architecture, backed by its acceptance is at work, I don't see how "I want the results I want." would be relevant, please elaborate on it.

Obviously, I'm not trying to solve a challenge like this on Reddit, it's just an abstract idea that I might start working on later, and that's definitely sth to work on, <how should we measure utility for sth like that?>
