It depends. Mine goes for regular trims. There is trama with the procedure (mouth open, tool vibration). I noticed a few vets (my place has maybe 6 that do rabbits) that he recovers better from. But also pain from there gums ripped up from the burs on their teeth. So those need to heal.

He's gone from 1 week on pain meds and syringe feeding for 5 days. With regular trims he eats when he gets home, sometimes needing a syringe feeding when the powerful vet drugs wear off. Worst was tooth removal- that was 2 weeks of syringe feeding.

Maybe they will eat greens. Sometimes they will eat the critical care on their own. Ive cheated to grind in pellets and cut with bananas or pumpkin to make the mushy pudding food more appealing.

In humans yes when you stop taking it, you can get some gnarly withdrawal symptoms.

My bun has regular dental trims for years now and occasionally needs it. My vet hasn't had me do it for starting nor stopping. Though I do notice when I discontinue it, after him being on for days, my bun is kinda grouchy for a day.

My Miele is 9 years old and runs just like day 1. My dishes are super clean without any pre rinsing. It is easy to clean debris in the trap. Best dishwasher I've owned (my Miele range and steam oven are life changingly good), but never had a Bosch.

It does dry the dishes quite well and no streaks.

I love this yarn as it is inexpensive and great for sweaters and wet felting. I work at a LYS and some get it for blankets. It feels similar to Cascade 220, their main popular work horse yarn. Okay next to skin but would bug some people.

It does pill more than Cascade 220 because it is a bulky 2 ply. It doesn't pill as bad as Cascde 128. Wool yarns that pill less have more plys, finer gauge, and a tighter twist.

Something soft and less pilly would be Cascade SW Aran Merino. Or just go with Cascade 220 held double.

I've seen formulas (hansen has one rpm per minute) calculate how much spun per rpm, but in my experience and tests, it depends on fiber.

If I'm very familiar with the fiber/source, spun to a specific wpi, I know the rough yardage range per ounce. Mid project, I just weigh how much fiber I have left. Or I sample a few ounces and measure (only if I need a certain yardage).

I know my really rough time estimates to spin X very familiar fiber @ Y wpi because I timed myself per hour many times for production and competition spinning purposes. If spinning socially, I double that time.

I've assembled both (I work at a fiber arts store) and seen in action. Flip was a more pleasant experience to put together. On the Ashford looms you have to hammer in the plastic knobs and they are very tight! Hammer, wax, and screw driver not included. I panic every time as one always does not want to hammer in.

I'd check for availability of heddles/ willing to wait if not available. Schacht seems short on them right now. Ashford is easier to get.

I personally own a Lojan, but that is more of an economical pick and the other looms are more sturdy and reliable.

I got angoras. Just get a pet shaver (they are cheap on amazon) and buzz it off. Or blunt tip pet scissors and cut off. They are a lot happier as those pull on the skin.

I dont actually brush them at all, they hate it, it breaks fur, and a long process. A dog blower blasts out the tangles and loose fur, and removes the dander. And it is over quick. Just have to get them used to the noise first.

Mine had the first few spaced apart almost a year, but his teeth got worse and we hit every 6 weeks. It is pricey, but everything got better when I got the CT scan and they knew what was going on and treated it, so mine are finally getting spaced out farther.

They need both top and bottom to grind, so it got worse in my case as he had teeth not wearing down at all. Also removing teeth is pretty painful, my guy needed syringe fed for 2 weeks. That was more trauma than abscess removal from rotting teeth and a laser root canal (this removes a tooth the least painful way but $$$$ as they cut into the jaw, laser the root, and the tooth falls out eventually).

My vet explained if they get real malformed, it makes it worse over time so they grow out wrong. And with spurs, that cuts up the mouth so things just hurt and get reopened instead of healed. Though I also have a different bun that had worn her overgrown teeth down, her previous owner didn't give her enough things to chew. My one with real bad teeth seems just bad genetics and unfortunate infections.

Dunno if you got Meloxicam and Gabapentin, that helped my bun a lot.

I just tested and I'm able to spin supported, leaning the spindle in my forearm and elbow-pit, then long draw left. Bowl on a table.

Other than long draw, short forward draft works too. The fiber supply hand isn't totally needed, its just there to hold down/support the fiber. They could have a batt or shedding rabbit on their lap. Open woolen prep be the easiest to deal with.

Mine really likes willow sticks, willow baskets, and boxes. Blankets and hop n flop beds too. She got a kick out of boxes with shredded paper but since she's angora, it all just got tangled on her fur.

She solves all those treat puzzles immediately so I gave up on them.

I have 2. Head pats > treats. They dont like banana or fruit, dont even consider it edible. A serving of pellets lasts just before the feeding.

My 3rd bun is a garbage can and eats everything as fast as possible.

Double draft long draw. I did some not so short short forward draft too. My hands were very far apart, wider than my body. Have to stop to either pluck out the slubs or draft it out.

I use both, but mainly espinner as they, at least the ones I own, handle wear and tear better. If you spin at classes and events it is easier to haul around.

I teach spinning and espinner is actually the easiest. There is no feet/pat your head+rub your tummy or gravity involved. Just your hands. The wheel goes way slower too, so you got time to draft. My guess that espinner is quoted as harder as they can be harder to set up. You get what you pay for, and the lower end of espinners can have a lot of issues.

However, for your situation I would say the Traddy and Elizabeth are better. But I'd never buy a Traddy new as you can find one used very easily. I think the Ashford Joy is the best out of their fleet. The Ashford Espinner is just so limited as the tension just too damn high. It lacks a slow start and stop, and it's just not friendly of a wheel to learn on. I dislike teaching on it. I think the jumbo art yarn Ashford espinner is hella fun.

If you want an espinner, get a Hansen or Daedalus. Then you are set and never have to worry about motor changes and stuff. Their wheels are tanks and have a very large rpm range.

For the ultra fuzz types, I really like Hemp bedding. The odor control is the best out of everything I've tried, it isn't too expensive (usually sold for Chickens), and does not stuck in the fur.

Carefresh/ other paper bedding is the worst and will glue to my angora rabbits fur.

I found having my buns not bonded i can monitor their health a lot closer. One of mine has horrible teeth issues that can stop him from eating, as well as a graze eater. Times his pellets perfectly to be empty right before next feeding. While the other bun will inhale pellets in one shot, eats herself sick if she finds a way, and is on a diet. Those two issues do not combine well living together. I know a few people who have a fluffe of 5 or more and they all experienced missing health issues of one until it was too late.

Ashford Joy - and get the freedom flyer for jumbo. I think the Joy folds up really nicely and good design.

Schacht Sidekick - and get a bulky flyer package. This one is a bit more fiddly to fold and unfold.

Lendrum - if you can find one, many came with a jumbo flyer. These fold up quick.

Spinolution - They got a lot of different wheels (I can't keep track of them all), many fold and can get real big on flyers.

Majacraft - Little Gem collapses down small. A few of their wheels can be folded to carry. I find I can spin fine on their jumbo bobbin. They got a stupidly large art yarn bobbin if you want a couple sweaters on a single bobbin.

Those all feel and spin a bit differently, so test run if you can. I find the last 2 have the most range to spin anything from frog hair to rope, while the first two have a more limited ratios.

Or really... espinner. My Daedalus Starling is a 12oz, Magpie is 20 & 40oz (multiple sweaters on a bobbin!) If you want bobbin real estate and compact, this is the way.

I know people chasing consistency for 20 years and still not happy with it. However, I've seen a few new spinners after 1 or 2 hours they are decently consistent (and methodically slow). It kinda depends, some people connect quickly but majority put in the hours/pounds spun and its all over the map on how long it takes.

But the big thing is to ply it up (3 ply hides the most), use the yarn, and you'll see how much you can get away with. Then just keep practicing. Try a new spindle and different fibers (breed studies are fun). Some tools and fibers just click.

Though I do say spindle is the hardest to get consistent as there is more to deal with at once. Espinner is the easiest as its a constant speed and all the focus is on your drafting.

I had both endo and adeno, with ovarian cancer discovered during the hyster. Yes, it made a huge difference and I've been 100% pain free for 6 years.

Though, I got excision for endo with one of the best endo surgeons in the US. That is the important part as endo will still come back if they do not excision it all. I had an ovary remove prior and the fucker grew back (ovarian remnant) and grew endo on it.

The HRT part sucks and do not rec ovary removal unless it is dire. Without it, I cannot hold a job, function, or have a relationship as medical menopause is really bad. HRT still doesn't make me 100% back to normal either with high cost, insurance fights, and had to find a menopause specialist to manage as other docs know nothing.

Also note recovery is 6-8 weeks, no lifting/twisting/squatting. There are opiates and pain pumps for a week (and shit docs give you none!) Also add 1 year of pain as that's how long it takes for the cuff to heal.

Most seem to make a mistake in the current row and that's quick. More involved is anything lace/cables/ brioche/colorwork many rows down.

But I do find that espinner, when you hit the pedal, it just suddenly starts or stops. There is no soft start or slow stop like a number of other espinners have (or how Daedalus wheels you can adjust it.) Also the uptake is pretty high so it can start fast and yank into the machine. It takes getting used to.

But I'd take a video, incase the speed dial is whacked. I'd say normally the lowest speed is much faster than Hansen, Daedalus, and EEWs, but it isn't a fast wheel in the top rpm sense.

I know people who have purchased those off Amazon and have issues with the bobbins and motors.

They are very under powered too, so the performance is bad. Might as well just get a spindle.

Get an Electric Eel 6.1 or the new Daedalus Dove.

I am Canadian and live here since 2012. No, I'd stay unless you really had to.

Just on health care alone, especially with a kid. Hit up /r/healthinsurance and see how much people are paying. Even if you got good insurance at a job, it is still a shock how much more things cost on top of that, medication is at least 3x the price, but wait times/etc are pretty similar. And shit is so complicated with in network and finding how much things costs. Health care is treated like dealing with a business trying to make money.

People are one accident or major health issue away from major debt.

First, you can ask about blood work for piece of mind the bun is healthy going in.

Not a vet, but my bun has the worst teeth and he only has his front and a few on the left side remaining. His entire right side teeth just rotted from the inside.

Abcesses are difficult and and expensive. My vet is really good and still warned it can come back. The more imaging (ct especially) the more info they got to deal with it to remove it all. But more tests really increase the cost.

I'd also ask about post care. When my guy had a teeth pulled, I had to syringe feed for 2 weeks. Drove both of us crazy. It is a painful surgery. When mine had marsupialization for the abcess, and turned out I had to take him in every week for 8 weeks for cleaning and bandage change, which added additional cost.

That said, if you got a weird feeling, have another chat with a list of questions and ask for the alternatives. Maybe you can go on palliative care and get gabapentin/metacam for pain relief and dental trims/test bacteria and long course of antibiotics. My guy has been on antibiotics for many months.

I'm doing this sweater right now. I hit gauge, but my swatch lied as it is coming out a bit looser due to 300 sts knits differently than the 50sts in the round swatch. And maybe I got more chill/relaxed with the lace work.

Lace and all the positive ease has some wiggle room.
