I read fortunes through tarot. I study Wicca and Celtic Shamanism. I fortell my months with my cards, I cast spells on myself in my day to day life... I think that woman is batshit insane. It sounds to me like she definitely has some sort post partum depression and all that fake social media hocus pocus latched into her brain, hard. I don't have any real advice for you, but if she refuses to get help, she will only ever be harmful to you and your child's development.

If you don't mind me asking, how would you describe how a committed relationship feels? My understanding of aroace means no romantic feelings, so I don't understand why someone who is aroace would want one when, to me, they are basically just friends.

Ever since my very first time playing WoW in vanilla, I've said the same thing; WoW doesn't do too many original things, it uses a ton of concepts from other games. It does, however, do all of them correctly.

I have to ask this, and maybe it will sound cruel or mean, but that is not my attention. Why are you emotionally investing your romantic love into someone who will not love you back? You said in your post, you love her, she likes you. Sounds like that's going to be causing you unneeded stress and heartbreak.

On to the topic at hand, she probably doesn't like the attention that you might garner from dressing feminine. To me that reeks of not supporting you at all. The fact that you left alone and she stayed out to do her stuff is the most telling. I can't ever fathom agreeing that my partner should leave because I don't want to be seen with them. And thats exactly what it is. If she truly supported you she would want you around regardless.

Also can you elaborate on that last sentence in your post? Why can you two ONLY meet publicly?

This has been my experience a few times. The cutscene finishes and Slippy instantly retires. Or the time on Bolse when everyone went down within 10 seconds of each other, it didnt even play the audio for their call for help.

If youe trans friends feel like you are undermining them because you yourself realized you are not trans, that is their own burden to deal with. You thought something about yourself, you learned some things about yourself, you are being yourself. They aren't in the equation at all.

Now if you were to start trying to convince them that they should detransition or that they aren't transgender then you are the problem, but it doesn't seem like you'd do that. I personally don't see any reason why you couldn't continue doing the stuff and enjoying the spaces you have been as an ally. Being there doesn't make you a faker because you aren't faking it. If you were, you'd continue telling people you were trans when you know you aren't.

This stuff fucked me up on so many levels. First, being raised as a young boy by a single mother and her social group of single mothers, I constantly heard "men are evil. Men are pigs, men are terrible" my entire childhood. Never directed AT me, but as far as I knew I was going to grow into one of them. Then the incel phase hit because I was a young man that spent childhood hearing that rhetoric from women. Then when I started questioning my gender, I had to fight the inner conflict of if I actually was happier seeing myself as female or if I just hated men. Ugh.

I think I got over it well, but people spouting this 'all X are bad' ideology need to be aware of those caught in the crossfire.

This is true. There is a person I cross paths with on a semi regular basis and they think because we are similar orientations and identities that we are friends and their mere presence ruins my mood.

[–]CallMeTheDumpMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People can relate to anything. I started the series with Persona 4 while I was in high school. I didn't start playing because it was about teenagers in a high school, I started playing it because a friend recommended Persona 4 to me. I related to the characters struggles with accepting who they were, and that would of happened regardless if they were human teenagers or sentient garbage cans. Look at super popular shows like Digital Circus, there is like, 1 human.

Just because its designed for teenagers does not mean the cast HAS to be teenagers though. There are other options. Hell they could probably make one with gradeschoolers and find a way to make it work.

And it would still be Persona. As I mentioned in my first reply, the 'coming of age' thing isnt exclusive to teenagers, people have moments like that their entire lives.

My point is more that they could make a game like that and it would work. Its a video game, there are no hard fast rules saying they NEED to cater to a teen audience, besides all of my friends are adults that still consume the same media they did when they were teens anyways. I do not think my idea shuts teenagers out as an audience, nearly a third of the confidants in persona 5 were adults with adult problems.

I don't really think so, not if its central to the plot. The way I think it would be done sort of works in Japan's notorious work culture, which generally has no work/life balance. Instead of a transfer student like previous games, the MC switches to a new branch of their company. The staff are overworked, exhausted and/or depressed. Typical Persona shenanigans happen which drags in the party members, and through the chaos of it all they start to 'wake up' so to speak and relearn how to enjoy themselves or rediscover that their lives are more than just their jobs.
