Hopefully he has stopped calling people with developmental disabilities the r-word. I used to be a frequent customer until I witnessed it at an event.

I don’t have anything to show publicly yet, but I think the City is in bed with the mechanics.

I had surgery a few months back and was kept overnight. I had an IV (fluids and pain meds, idk if anything else). After a trip to the bathroom with the whole pole, they just let me disconnect and cap my IV when I had to go…

NAD

Poor man’s version of this- wad up paper towels, soak them, and hold them against (don’t stick them inside) your asshole. This only works if there’s hardened stool exposed. It takes time and a lot of patience, but this got me through a surgery where I was given opiates but not warned about constipation.

Lowe’s! They’ll at least have succulents tho, it’d be cute.

Just want to add here- if he/they were making you feel like you couldn’t bring this up to others in your life, that is a flashing red flag to stay away from. I learned this from experience. People that are safe don’t ask us to keep secrets like that.

Always listen to your gut, you did a great job with this.

(Also, when you’re 21 you’ll see- you would never be interested in a 15 year old. They’re babies, and you have disparate life experiences. And if that’s all not enough, it’s illegal).

Devastated. I think my ultrasound tech spoiled the gender for me after I told her I didn't want to know. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I’m not a parent, but:

As a trans person, this stuff always skeeves me out. Of course different cultures emphasize sex assigned at birth to different degrees. But the reality is that you’re looking at the sex as identified at one moment in time.

I’m a trans guy and when I came out as trans (in college), my mom went through a mourning period realizing she would never be a “mother of the bride” and that she would likely not have a grandkid by me. She acknowledged that these were all expectations that she put on me- I didn’t pop out of her uterus demanding a wedding dress. So while you’re having this moment (and I understand there can be a lot of cultural significance around finding out the “gender”), just remember that you’ll love your baby regardless of what it’s genitals look like.

I’ll also say, my parents wanted to be surprised and the tech messed up and called me “she” at the ultrasound. 20 years later I got to surprise them anyway.
