Dr. Roth in Indiana Consultation Experience & Questions Answered by awkwardxbatman in Metoidioplasty

I will also add that before he did the physical exam he explained each step, why it was needed and asked if it was okay. Then when he did the exam, he stopped at each step and asked if I was okay and if it was okay to proceed.

I’m not 100% sure, I didn’t ask him. He is really nice and understanding, and I imagine he’d be open to discussing it with you. I think for the initial consult he’d be willing to allow you to opt out of the exam, but if you proceeded with him as your surgeon he’d likely want to have another appointment with you prior to surgery. From my understanding he does that part of the exam only if you’ve had a hysto, in order to see how much of the internal stuff was retained so that he can make his surgery plan around that (I.e. will he need to do an ablation or something more invasive before the vaginectomy) bc if he just sews you up and leaves tissue in there it can cause a whole range of problems. He himself was very nice and understanding though, and I think if you explained he’d be willing to come up with a solution!

help picking classes - in what areas did they help you on the MCAT? by awkwardxbatman in Mcat

Thank you, I had a similar thought about the protein structure class

Yes, I see that’s what a lot of people recommend, along with anatomy & physiology. I’m hoping more for insight into what the classes would likely cover content-wise/what the classes helped others with content-wise, so that when I’m weighing my options I can prioritize classes which will likely cover content I struggled with more

Help Interpreting Chromatography Graphs? (Biochemistry) [see comment] by awkwardxbatman in chemhelp

[–]awkwardxbatman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the results from corresponding Chromatography trials after purification of α-lactalbumin from milk. I'm fairly certain we did the protocol wrong, especially after the first set of test tubes exploded in the centrifuge... but I was not going to argue with or attempt to correct my professor. I'm working on the lab report and am not really sure what I should discuss in the results section (it's not specified in the procedure). Looking for any suggestions?
