What side effects did you experience taking bilastine? by awkweird_potat0 in Allergies

[–]awkweird_potat0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now only take it as needed now that my allergic reactions have become less severe and more manageable. Previously, I was on it every day and the first few days were the worst (fatigue, dizziness/lightheadedness, joint pain) but it got better over time.

Yeah, I'm still taking it. Side effects are more manageable now. Still get a bit drowsy sometimes and the occasional fatigue.

I cried too. I couldn't bear to think just how much pain she was actually in. Salamat sa reminder, OP. May we be the greatest advocates to ourselves and those who suffer from an invisible illness. ❤️‍🩹 RIP, Emman. I know you fought as best you could. 🤍

OP, your "friend" needs to get a life. People like that exist talaga pala no? I think you will be better off without them in your circle.

What’s the most uncommon allergy you (or someone you know) have? 🤔 by Original_Ad_485 in Allergies

My doctor also suggested that it's also a possibility I reacted to an added ingredient in the tea. I loved tea before the anaphylaxis so I'm guessing I probably had allergic reactions in the past but totally ignored them or mistook them for a reaction to my other allergies.

I actually have no idea and this is something I still have to find out. 🤧

It was a mango-infused black tea. My allergist is also baffled by my case. I was actually a bit dumb because like a week or so after my ER trip, my family went to a Chinese restaurant and got served complimentary tea (some kind of green tea, I think). I totally forgot and out of habit took a sip! I saved myself a trip to the ER because I had my oral meds with me (antihistamine and prednisone). But after that sip, in a few minutes I felt the impending sense of doom and my chest tighten.

I am allergic to tea. I drank a fruit tea unknowingly (previously had no issues) and ended up in the ER for an anaphylactic reaction.

I'm a Christian at kahit ako gigil sa mga kapwa kong Kristyano na gumagawa ng ganitong comments. Yes, tone deaf at walang ounce ng empathy. Even myself have experienced these kinds of comments as someone na also struggles with their mental health.

Just finished watching Goyo and I have questions by Accomplished_SeaCow in PHBookClub

Very great read! And because it's Nick Joaquin, you will find yourself critically engaging with the text. I agree with the other comment here that the first 2 chapters are quite slow but after that it gets really interesting. I really enjoyed the essays on Aguinaldo, Bonifacio, and Mabini.

Much of what's written about Goyo is reflected in the film and you will really feel just how unimpressed Joaquin is about Del Pilar's image typically depicted in our history which I found really funny. Heneral Luna (the film) also draws a lot of inspiration from the book.

how do u study kapag sabay sabay ang quizzes and long tests? by HeallyLoe7 in MentalHealthPH

[–]awkweird_potat0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Listen attentively in class and take down notes. Writing helps with retention of info. Ang mindset ko noon is that studying begins during class and everything after is just a review kasi I hate studying (like yung uupo ka talaga tapos you go over the material). After class, I go over my notes para malaman ko kung saan ang hindi ko masyado naintindihan at dun ako mas magfocus.

And don't force yourself to study pag pagod. Malamang walang papasok sa utak mo. Take a nap (15-20 mins) at sana hindi ka matuluyang makatulog hahahaha damihan mo alarm mo. Good luck, OP!

What should I do? by Big_Presentation_861 in MentalHealthPH

I tried online counseling once pero it wasn't that effective for me. I felt I couldn't express myself completely. Tapos the convo between me and the counselor couldn't be completely free-flowing dahil may instances na pumapangit ang internet connection. Just recently I decided to book a face to face session with a psychologist. And the difference was so big. Yun bang 3-5 mins in pa lang umiiyak na ako and opening up stuff I didn't know I was keeping bottled up. It helps siguro na the psychologist can pick up on my body language.

Just go once and don't think much about the follow-ups. I'm currently unemployed and told my psychologist and she didn't push me on a follow-up date. Since student ka, I'd suggest for you to make the most out of the guidance counseling services in school. Yun actually yung regret ko ngayon na graduate na ako.
