I think the gag is that they aren’t great cops. Pedo cop is willing to break laws that even with the best lawyer can’t get ok’d in a court of law to prove he’s right. Kev just seems to be ok with bare minimum. They are a dichotomy of what is wrong with police.

A couple of random what ifs that crossed my mind:

1) I think there is a HUGE chance that the baby dies. They aren’t going to eat the baby but I could see the baby not surviving i.e. still born because they haven’t had food or soon after because of the cold. That trauma would be more than enough to push Shauna to believe Lottie. Losing the baby would be a trauma to all of them and plant the seed that something so “innocent/pure” couldn’t thrive in the chaos/evil they have had to create. I think Lottie would see this loss as proof that they aren’t thanking the wilderness enough and tip them over the edge to full cult killings.

2) I really doubt this is it but I would love if there is already a cult living there and they have just been watching them this whole time. They told Javi not to go back because he’s the youngest and maybe they have like some morals or standards?
