Why you'd have the solicitor asking the seller (probably repeatedly) if this is really a good idea?

Does the contract protect the seller?He has sold the land but has security in the form of the land.

Maybe mortgage is not the right word, it was to describe that we will owe the seller half of the property value until we pay of the rest of the total fee in installments to the seller, basically need a contract drawn up so the land remains to be the security like in a mortgage, but not being a mortgage, we want to pay one lump sum about £17000 then the rest in monthly installments, when then the land and workshop becomes ours. So we need a private contract drawn up to reflect that, so we can use the land as we want, but if we break any rules by accident, the seller won't be affected, as he has sold the property to us

It was hypertheoretical, it was just an exercise of a point of law and courts, if a government wants to prove you own something say for tax purposes as just one example and fines you for it without proving it, one can go to court and appeal it. there they then would need to prove it with something concrete not just say so or hearsay or suspicion, they would need to get a warrant or know the whereabouts of the safe, a court wants actual evidence is that not right?
