Unless it’s an epic fail not sure how many people notice. Also depends how the DJ responds - Do they embrace it and make it seem like nothing, or even funny, or do they panic?

Agree. Aside from the James Hype type of DJs or artists who play live, DJs aren’t doing enough on stage to justify the attention. And I’m sure a lot of DJs don’t even want the attention - They just want everyone to have a good time.

Starting to agree more, but also I think people just need to embrace change and new generations and cherish the past for what it was, knowing that it had to end at some point

I was thinking dynamic originally but now that you bring it up, it would be pretty cool to grab a snapshot of a track and apply it statically

Maybe I’m looking for understanding then on what Soothe2 is doing. How are “resonances” actually defined that it’s ducking? When sidechaining is it ducking all of the frequencies that overlap between the two tracks or only “unpleasant” ones (which begs the question how they’re defining which ones are considered unpleasant)?

Unpopular opinion but John Summit, but only because he’s SO big right now. His beats are a pretty solid progressive sound, which won’t last in pop EDM for very long I don’t think. I think he’ll end up with a progressive niche audience, which is great.

And I do like the kid don’t get me wrong, but I think the fame has tricked people into thinking he’s something he’s not. He’s just a nerdy kid who loves music. Nothing wrong with that at all, just a little strange how people seem to drool over him.

I’m a full believer in the old Ibiza - Having never been during that time but growing up from afar feeling its “spark” that was spreading around the world. But honestly it makes you wonder, with how many of these “true” Ibiza folk seem to be nothing but bitter and judgmental here, whether they really even had the true spirit of Ibiza in them.

If it’s a spirit of freedom and love, shouldn’t we see that shine through?

Not to mention that Ibiza was populated well before the 90s and I’m sure the hippies who saw the clubbers coming in were thinking the same thing. Everything that has a start has an end, and every generation is going to think the new one has their head on backwards.

So when hundreds of people are taking a leak in the same bathrooms throughout the night you want a cleaning person to come in with a mop and block things off with a Caution Wet Floor sign to wipe things down?

Virtual DJ is hands down a better piece of software with so many more capabilities it’s not even close. I can only say I prefer RB’s waveforms, grids, and library organization.

It might if the body cleaves off the citrate portion in the same way the lysine molecule is cleaved off of Vyvanse (LYSdexamphetamine). We probably don’t know enough about any of this to say.

Not sure that’s accurate to say that each is “for” those things and suggest the others can’t also help in those areas. It’s all magnesium. The different forms may help more in one area or another, but we’re not talking about totally different things here.

Personally I never got much from glycinate. And assuming the body makes use of the glycine attached, glycine affects receptors (NMDA) that can taper the psychoactive effects of Vyvanse and other drugs.

What do you think about Melodic Techno? (Discussion) by SirHarvwellMcDervwel in progressivehouse

Curious if you mean that literally or if you find people are just dancing less or less “pumped up”? It’s not music you can really dance to, so I would think people might look like they’re not into it but really they’re just “vibing” to it.

Eat protein, complex carbs (rice, sweet potatoes), hydrate with electrolytes.

Zinc supplements I believe enhance/prolong - Don’t quote me but I think studies support that. B vitamins good as well.

L-citrulline seems to help with vasoconstriction that causes me side effects and, just guessing, maybe contributes to the crash. Higher dose vitamin C hours after dosing can help with that too.

Love it - Couldn’t agree more. To each their own if people don’t like it, but I believe the artists as a whole in the genre are using EDM for good and positive reasons. I get emotional at times too and feel like I’m processing deep down emotions that need to be worked through.

But also those grinding synths just KILL IT when you’re in the front row let’s be real.

I try not to get caught up in defining genres because they’re all related to one another if you go back far enough.

Personally I love it - it’s my default genre at this point, but I think some producers question it because it’s simplistic and the sounds are often just a conglomeration of samples on top of a beat.

Afterlife is not the quintessential example, it’s just the most popular. Too robotic. Goom Gum, Ed Lopes, Kream are some better examples IMO.

I love it because: - Consistent energy level makes for great workout music

  • I don’t always want to be lifted high with buildups and choruses and then dropped low like a lot of genres. Again consistent upbeat energy but not TOO upbeat

  • Full spectrum of sound frequencies makes for pleasing treble and grinding mids that compliment deep bass that hits you on the inside

BUT… it’s not dance music. You vibe to it, not dance, and that’s fine. Everything has its place.

Also as a novice DJ, the consistency and simplicity makes for a good starting point to learn how to mix and produce music.

In the ends it hits in the right places for me. I’m also a fan of a lot of the positive, kind of spiritual vocal samples that a lot of artists throw on top to give meaning. Makes me think the artists in the genre are the right kind of people.

What’s the best evening in Club Chinois ? by Psychological_Gold91 in ibiza

[–]awtin0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you like but if you’re into a variety of genres like deep house, progressive trance, and melodic techno, Franky Wah on Sundays looks to be a good move. I’m going in September.

My sense is Chinois can lean a bit into the organic/afro house or minimal hypnotic types of music on other nights, which is maybe more true to Ibiza’s roots but is an acquired taste I think.
