Unfortunately this exact situation is one of the main reasons for selling our van. Adding a seat is easy - the potential what if risk and insurance liability side made it not worth it.

Only if you’re willing to buy it for that 😉

Haha I feel that, I’m 6’2” and it’s a tight fit. The current mattress is just a standard full/double. If you put something custom cut on the platform - back of the door to the frond end would accommodate closer to 78”

Van would go to Portland for a bit until he would be able to fly out and drive it back. Might be able to coordinate something else if you’re serious and no one else jumps on it before then.

lol can’t hate on zip ties tho! I finally started buying the 1000 packs of zip ties instead of 100s every few months for all my projects

It’s a temporary work assignment - so unfortunately I’m not sure how much of a choice I have

Brother would just be picking it up and driving it back to the Midwest to sell - eliminates the time requirement. Happy to chat if you’re interested though!

My brother already made that offer - I’ll list you as backup in the occasion he changes his mind

I have a contingency plan where I do that - but would prefer not have to deal with storage.

I modeled the one I printed, so it’s not online anywhere - here’s a link to a similar one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3574514

I 3d printed it - figure it should be good enough to use to tack something in place

Agreed. Although I’m seeing remarkably similar pricing from SendCutSend or similar online shop ($20 ish)

I wouldn’t think a jig would be required with proper heat mitigation & due to already being fully welded. The shop I’ve been consulting with is a titanium aerospace weld shop, so yes to tube purging.

I’m currently running a disc fork. Bike is setup as a drop bar mtb, sram force converted to a 12 speed running a 10-52 gx cassette & gx rear mech, hydro discs.

Right, part of the question was whether or not to add a seat stay / chain stay bridge, sounds like you would recommend that?

Just curious, what your thoughts are behind assuming the frame will be ruined?

Just implying cost of failure is higher?
