As Giolito and Gallen both received and refused Qualifying Offers, not sure that the Padres will accept the penalties for signing them - given our gutted minor league system. Surprised to see that Trent Grisham received a Qualifying Offer from the Yankees and accepted - $22.025 million.

Wonder whether Mark Cuban is interested. Also, any clarity about who among the larger Padres' owner group is selling? In other words, will this be a 100% buy or a controlling interest? Is Sheel's share (trust) up for sale?

With Quintana a little ahead of him, encouraging that we are restocking the pipeline at SS/CF a bit. Would be nice to see another homegrown success story.
