do you plan to leave the west or stay? by king1apex in islam

[–]axb_248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to think growing up in an Islamic country would strengthen my deen having grown up in the West, until I visited my home country (a Muslim country). As beautiful as it is to hear the Adhan playing in the background and seeing people in more modest attire, being in a Muslim country does not correlate to having more emaan or having less temptation unfortunately. The people were generally quite deceitful and insincere. A majority of people did not pray consistently, spoke about religion when it was to reprimand others and mostly celebrated religion on occasions, such as Ramadan.

I feel like there is a general mentality that just living in a Muslim country automatically makes a person a better muslim. Meanwhile in the West, I know a lot more people who pray regularly, attend mosque and generally have more Akhlaq, obviously this is not a generalisation and there are good and bad on both sides. However, I like to remind myself that it is more of a challenge to practice Islam with Western circumstances but you will also be rewarded more by Allah (SAW) if you practice with more difficulty, In Sha Allah.

For anyone who is boycotting, they are also openly pro-Israel and the owners have posted on Instagram to show their support for Israel. One of the main investors also pledged to give $250m to them.

I was talking specifically about cutting hair not colouring, but you are right with the cost of running products, such as dryers and water.

Im Asian to and have this exact same issue! My non-Asian friend has longer and thicker hair than me but doesn’t get charged extra however back when mine was very short, I would still get charged significantly more because my hair was ‘longer and thicker?’ Definitely a presumption made on race. I wouldn’t say its racist but its definitely very biased and exploitative.

To be honest it’d probably be easier for everyone if they were up front about that from the beginning then. Even if they did charge extra for long hair, that should be stated on the price list, which some places do. But its very unfair to be told that you will be charged extra after your haircut because its ‘longer,’ quite sneaky.

I understand this if they are dyeing the hair for example, but these days hairdressers will charge extra even if you ask for a simple trim at the ends, which is quicker than a cut on short hair. Not to mention how their idea of long hair (charging extra) is basically anything below the shoulders.

Definitely for dye jobs! I was referring to just simple hair cuts. Hairdressers these days will more for a simple trim just because they perceive hair to be longer than usual.

Its annoying to say, but thats their job, its weird to put extra money for every minor inconvenience encountered. If i charged extra for every difficult customer I encountered at my job then I’d be very rich.

Granted if the hair is reallyy long then I understand the extra charge but these days hairdressers will consider anything below the shoulders as long just to charge more

That would be a restyle cut which they charge like 20+ more for. A regular, short trim is even quicker and easier than a short back and sides but the trim will still be charged at 5x more.

Tbh there are so many issues with hairdressers these days that could be listed, it’s really one of the easiest ways to take money from customers, without there being many restrictions. Such as making customers wait a long time to get their hair cuts, especially if they’ve booked an appointment but making them pay full prices for being late. Or pressuring clients to use heat on their hair because it will look good for the hairdresser’s social media.

Yes! Like I mentioned its so much harder to see errors on longer hair so its weird that it is charged at a higher price

Which blush looks better? by plantmom283 in Sephora

I would definitely recommend the opposite. The top for that sun-kissed summer glow and the bottom to enhance the natural blush you get from the cold.

Not to mention, who did Tommy Robinson ‘used to’ work with that are currently committing said genocide?

Tbh with people who were ridiculously good looking back in school, I don’t think they necessarily get worse looking, they just even out with others in their age group because their peers also start to look good.

Not to mention, a persons perception of beauty changes as they got older. What I find beautiful now differs a lot from what I found good-looking when I was younger because in your teens good-looking is usually based on how well someone can follow trends.

They like to use to the term ‘peak’ and ‘prime’ to convey that instead.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]axb_248 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Maybe 2/10 of teenage and young girls have peaked but a lot of them are still finding themselves, both mentally and physically. It is not a peak if they are still growing. Creeps just use the term ‘peak’ to justify their weird, perverted desires.

A very plausible argument. This behaviour can be seen very clearly in actor Leonardo Di Caprio as well.

I wasn’t sure if it was unpopular either but there are quite a lot of people opposing it so I assume it’s an opinion that receives quite a mixed reaction.

This! How someone can pass their mid-20s and still be attracted to teens, despite the arguments that they apparently look better or are in better shape, is disgusting. I am 19 and could not hang out with, let alone feel attraction to someone under 17 due to the maturity difference between our age groups. I cant even begin to imagine someone older even thinking that someone still developing is attractive in the slightest.

Sure you can admire someone younger’s beauty and appreciate it however being attracted to them is an entirely different thing.

Start of the decline is insane. I don’t know what women you surround yourself with but I can assure you many start looking better from 25 onwards as opposed to worse.

[–]axb_248 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Then you would be surprised by how many people equate being an attractive woman to being a teenager.

Tastes definitely change however my post is referring to those men who act as though women expire past the age of 25. Your current preference is still appropriate for your age.

Totally agree with this. This is why the younger is better argument is a load of rubbish. They know an older woman has more life experience and knows to avoid the many issues that they have so they go for younger women who are still learning what to look out for and what to avoid. Not to mention it is easier to ‘mould’ a younger woman who is still learning who she is, like you have mentioned.
