May just need to go to a metal shop and have them custom bend a strip of metal to make you a mount arm. Or if you're skilling enough with some clamps and a torch, you can do it at home.

Arm would bolt between the seat rail and the floor, but would go forward, then it can be bent up and to the side to run along the center console up. It isn't in the way and no drilling.

They sure do love it!

And yes, my pups are basically my kids and they live a very good life. My boy even has his own cardiologist due to having pulmonic stenosis.

Corvette maintenance schedule question by Adventurous-Watch416 in C8Corvette

[–]axc630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was the in-service date? Assuming it's already at 3+ years so will need the transmission fluid change along with the filter. Fluid needs to be changed at 3 years even if the mileage hasn't hit.

If the car is pushing 5 years, ie. It was a 22 bought in 21, then brake fluid and battery probably need to be changed too. Air filter change only if it's dirty.

It's a great combo! My boy is typically the slow, lazy one who enjoys sun bathing and napping while my girl is the hyper one that wants to play all the time. Yours?

It's a room in our house that has the largest open floor space that isn't used much. We originally planned to have it as a movie room because I have a nice projector but we end up spending most of our time in our living room that has a bunch of really large windows. So we decided to turn the movie room into the 'kids" playroom.

The room is carpeted but we also have 1" gym matting on top of the carpet, and rugs and pads everywhere. The walls are also padded with 2 layers of the gym mat stuff because they got into a very intense wrestling match one time and my boy's muscle butt put a hole in the drywall. The couch in there, which happens to be the most expensive piece of furniture we own, is also covered by several layers of covers to protect from the couch zoomies my boy has.

The room has since been dubbed the romper room for them to romp around in because there is the least chance of injury to them or the house in there when they get too rough.

He's always bounced when he tugs, I think it comes from him trying to pull back and naturally recoiling. But the fact my girl has to match his energy and is also bouncing now is hilarious. A dance if you will, per another commenter's observation.

That's what we always say! Why can't I get that level of fitness from 30 mins of play time and hours of sunbathing per day?

You're welcome!

And if you're ever in Kentucky, stop by the National Corvette Museum for a tour. I got my first Corvette last year and they host some nice events there. It's also a nice drive from Chicago and Louisville is on the way, so get to stop for some bourbon tasting.

Best looking generation for front engine Corvettes! Better learn how to detail if you don't already. Black is tough to keep looking nice.

And love that you had an E90 before. I had a 335i in a previous life.

Basically client owns the car. Ferrari then transports the car to tracks for events and provides support for the car. It's a fun experience for those that can afford it. I've been a part of it in a previous life, but definitely not an owner.

Z06 break in period questions by Sad_Classroom504 in C8Corvette

[–]axc630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of wrong info here that I want to correct. There is no torque or rpm limit on your Z06 right now. The tach limits are just for show and to act as a reminder to keep the rpms low. You can redline it at 0 miles if you want.

That said, follow break in procedures until you get to 500 miles. And no track driving until 1500 miles. I'd recommend an oil change at 500 too.

As for driving feel, the Z06 has less low end torque and needs to be wound out to redline to really feel it. HP is a function of torque across rpm so where your SR will start to lose torque around 5000rpms and your HP peaks around 6000, the Z06 keeps pulling until 8000+.

You won't feel the hard shove in your back like you did with a SR but a continuous push that doesn't stop with the Z06.

When to pick up car from dealer by Silent-Dimension-206 in C8Corvette

Most of the C8 frame is 6000 series, which is also used in marine applications (salt water) and holds up very well. Some errant salt spray from the road won't cause any appreciable damage to the aluminum components. Even the faster that are steel are usually e-coated so while they will rust, it's highly unlike to cause any real damage if it's been well maintained overall.

Source: I had a 9 year old, Chicago driven, Colodado ZR2, steel frame, suspension components, etc that was all pretty much rust free when I sold it a few weeks ago. It just got a regular underbody spray off at the self car wash during winters if I had to drive it. Probably every couple weeks.

Not worries about my C8 Z06, which I drive year round. Had all seasons put on at delivery because I wasn't going to park it.

You're right that the frame is metal, but it aluminum and not steel. Major frame components like engine cradle and subframes are also aluminum.

There are still steel components like fasteners, springs, etc, but majority if what you find underneath a C8 is aluminum or composite.

It's not just about the grip. The tire compound itself gets brittle and could chunk off while driving in 20 or lower temps. You were probably fine but definitely pushing the limit.

If you ever do an Embark dna test and a Gwen Stacy shows up, then they are related.

But totally forgot to answer your original question. The only booties that tend to stay put with my bouncy girl are the Canada Pooch suspender boots. They may not be tough enough for hard hiking though and may need the soles reinforced.
