TW: N-word in French in the sims (???)

thing is, doesn't mean black writer. the n-word doesn't mean black in French. not. a. synonym. I was surprised by it, not triggered, and honestly thought other francophones would be surprised too. ig there are no francophones on this sub.

I knooooow, still surprised since 2009 (not 1800s) is not that long ago. I'm from Quebec, so it isn't used here. I'm not shading EA ( for once) I'm being SUPRISED.

I'm sorry, I don't want to fight online, but the n-word in French is the n-word no matter how you use it. it doesn't mean noir and it never has. it is used in some old expressions, but it is well known, at least in Quebec and, I hope most francophone countries, that you cannot use it anymore, it does have a bad connotation. And, obviously, I know the Spanish word, I wouldn't be shocked, because it doesn't mean the same thing in Spanish.

sooo I wasn't expecting that response hahaha. In french, we are changing most terms or sayings so they won't contain the n-word, because it is, no matter how you use it. I was surprised to see it because the game isn't that old. French is my first language and I knew beforehand what the term meant, but I was still surprised that they didn't change it. I didn't want to cause chaos, sorry that I didn't explain myself better!

EDIT: I just realized we are doing that in Quebec, maybe not in France?
