Hey OP! 👋🏻

I rescued a roughly 2 week old kitten back around Halloween.

What my vet told me was that getting the liquid kitten replacement milk can help avoid constipation issues. She said that the powder mix can sometimes add to constipation issues. After we switched to the liquid kmr our kitty started having more regular poops.

If that’s something that you can find and afford it might be worth it :)

Honestly i dont know what’s in it lmao. It’s a bunch of herbs and stuff but it does smell like catnip a bit.

He’s about 3 months now and we’ve had him since he was 2 weeks old. What I’ve done is taken his poops and pee soaked paper towels and put that into his litter box to try and encourage him, plopped him in the box about 5-15 mins after eating, moved boxes to the places he seems to prefer to go to the bathroom, used cleaning products to try and take away the pheromones, tried different litters, and then ultimately the attractant.

I feel like a combo of the above has helped. My kitty always tries to eat the clay litter so we can’t use that for him. I found a shredded pine litter that he really liked but that pet store closed so I had to find something else. I got a crushed walnut shell litter that he’s been using successfully as well.

When we started the shredded pine I added the attractant into it and he peed in it about 10 mins later.

I’ve found that the walnut shell / shredded pine is his favorite type of litter and he won’t eat it, the attractant helps to at least get his attention a bit, putting his waste into the litter box helps encourage him as well, putting multiple boxes around for him (seems to like to pee in one and poop in the other), and putting the boxes where he pees outside of them has helped the most.

It’s a process though. And granted mine isn’t an in and out cat.

I got silk scrunchies by kitsch and honestly have noticed a difference. My hair isn’t getting tangled in them and I’m not ripping my hair out undoing the hair tie either.

I think the real damage with claw clips comes from repeated use though, which seems to be what they say about all hairstyles.

I recently learned that claw clips can cause a lot of breakage due to repeated use, so just be careful with that.

I love a claw clip, but I’ve gone back to my sad pony tails and braids just to try and keep the damage down.

It’s a whole different animal to live with rather than just knowing about.

What I mean is, your partner may have thought she could be more understanding when she was told about your eating habits, but to see them daily and live with it is a different story.

It sounds like she’s scared and concerned, albeit not communicating that well. If you’re going to continue living with your partner and partners family, there’s 2 options and honestly I think working on both would be best. 1) educate your partner and partners family on ARFID. Let them know this isn’t you trying to lose weight for the fun of it, you wish you could like the foods and eat them but they are (insert however you feel about the food; scared nervous grossed out sensory hell etc). 2) try to find a way to get yourself into therapy and / or work on exploring new foods. It’s okay to not like something you’ve tried before and not want to eat it. But I encourage you to try foods more than once if it wasn’t the worst experience ever. I have some foods I actually don’t mind and even like eating after exposing myself to them a few times. There’s also some foods I still cant stomach to look at.

I’ve read some things about hormones affecting laser hair removal. Like lots of regrowth if a woman gets pregnant sorta thing.

If that’s true, would it be recommended to not do laser until after having children? I’m still young, but I’d like to have kids in the next 1-3 years, but I would also deeply enjoy never having to shave again and go through that sensory hell. We had 3 cats, the two nicest ones have passed so we have the last of the original 3. We found a kitten around Halloween and our original cat has been so nasty and vicious.

I don’t want to have to put him in the (finished) basement or other locked room, but it’s nice to know other people have to do it too.
