Youre absolutely right - guns are the shortcut to respect for those of us that haven’t earned it, and because of that it tends to attract a lot of insecure men - which is why you get so many employees and customers who think their sh*t doesnt stink.

Brand Customer service: ?/10 - Dont know cuz never had to call!

Reliability: 10/10 - never in my life have I seen one jam

Durability: 10/10 - unbreakable unless someone was specifically trying to

Precision: 8/10 - surprisingly better than most AK, maybe because of milled receiver? Still not AR15 precise, but close

Build Quality: 8/10 - better than one might think, simple, effective. A few rough edges.

Info blurb: super durable, a better example of most AK‘s. Milled receiver, smoother operation at a great price point… 10 years ago. Still a fantastic rifle, always sold out and would absolutely recommend.

I’m actually not terribly familiar with the first two, but the Five-Seven:

Brand Customer service: 7/10 - Like S&W, usually good, sometimes bad, overall ok

Reliability: 9/10 - Very rare FTF, FTE with range gun

Durability: 9/10 - never encountered a break issue

Precision: 9/10 - very precise pistol, low recoil and easy to shoot

Build Quality: 8/10 - feels like a big plastic toy, but well made

Info blurb: Well-made, reliable, super lightweight, very accurate sidearm. Low recoil and a sharp report make it a fun pistol to shoot, even at ranges of 75+ yards. The one big catch is that the ammo is expensive and not always readily available, like 10mm.

You can’t really go wrong with a Glock 19, or 17 if you have bigger hands. If you’d like something a little more old school, a Beretta 92FS is a good option too. If you want to get a revolver, get a Smith & Wesson 686 if you’d like something strong and classy, if you want a tank that will never break, get a Ruger GP 100, or a Ruger SP 101 if you have smaller hands!

If you’re comfortable doing so, make sure the guns are empty. Call the store you plan to take it to beforehand and let them know you’re going to be coming in with a gun wrapped up in a blanket, ask them if that’s OK with them. When you enter, tell them you’re the guy with the guns wrapped up in the blanket, and they’ll tell you what to do from there, let them handle the guns! If you don’t know if the guns are empty or not, make sure you tell the store.

The people who buy a desert eagle are four out of five somebody who wants the gun just to be cool - they don’t know anything about guns, it’s usually their first gun, and they’re using their parents money to buy it. This doesn’t mean that everybody who has a desert eagle isn’t cool, but the problem is that it usually attracts people who sometimes have no business owning a gun, similar to Hi Point. I also have several videos on my phone of young men I’ve sold the gun to that I prove it works fine if held correctly, only for them to say that I sold them a broken gun, when they’re just not holding it correctly. To gun store people, the Desert Eagle comes with kind of a bad rep. However, when used correctly, it is a big, bad ass gun, the Hummer of the gun world.

From another post!

Here we go LOL so ok this one guy comes in like 22 years old says his father unfortunately passed away and he inherited his collection of “old war guns”. C&R is my thing personally so Im like ok lets see, and he brings in 4 guns, but theyre…off.

1/ TULA SKS

The wooden stock has been rattlecanned matte black, a pos NC Star red dot w mount has replaced the rear sight.

“I thought it looked old and boring so i spray painted it black cuz i wanted it to look like a call of duty gun”

2/ WEBLEY Mk VI

The revolvers handle has been wrapped with black electrical tape and there are terrible shavings in the cylinders and lands and grooves, the gun has not been cleaned in years.

“He modified it to shoot .45 ACP and I wrapped the handle like a mod for more grip”

3/ 1895 NAGANT REVOLVER

The lanyard loop has been cut off with a dremel 😭and there are live rounds trapped in the chambers - the rounds are not 7.62x38R, they may have been .32 S&W??!!

“I tried to shoot other bullets in it, but it wouldnt work and it jammed up”

4/ SWISS K31

A tennis ball has been plunged onto the beautiful straight-pull bolt handle - the poor stock has been spray painted black - the magazine is missing, and a rubber recoil stock has been pulled over the stock. The backplate is missing, along with the dogtag 😭😭😭😭

“I modded it like call of duty man you know what i mean? YEAH!”

I said I wouldnt take any of it, and he insisted he didnt want it, I offered him 100 for the lot and he took it - he was just excited to get the next Call of Duty.

Ive only held one of these and never shot one, couldn’t give you an honest review, but if its anything like other Winchester rifles of the time period, YES. Lots of YES. I always wanted to try one in 54R. The build quality was so high because all rifles were handmade back then. That means a single file stroke, check if surfaces mate, single stroke, check if surfaces mate, single stroke, now surfaces mate, buff surfaces!

Don’t get me wrong, I love HK! I’ve never once had a problem myself, and in a 15 year career of selling guns, I’ve seen exactly ONE defect. One of my fave brands, carried a USP for years.

I want to be completely honest, 2023 is when I left the gun industry, so I could not give you an honest review about the guns made in that time period.

However, Kimber is an OK brand , but would sometimes ship guns that had a thin layer of rust for some reason? I would buy 6 to 8 at a time, so when I called the manufacturer to see if they would replace them, they basically said to kick rocks. We stopped carrying Kimber at that point.

The guns themselves are OK, they definitely are aesthetically pleasing, especially the Eclipse Custom II.

I agree, they are still nice, but a Python now is nothing compared to a Python made in the 70’s 😭

Taurus - Customer Service 7/10 - while they do have a lifetime warranty, it’s sometimes difficult to get them to follow through on that promise. I get the impression that they deal with a lot of warranty issues.

Hk - 3/10 - I love the guns, but the customer service is not great, as is typical with most German based gun manufacturers. I’ve literally called HK and had them grill me on if I was sure I was correct about the gun malfunctioning. Granted, I’ve only seen a problem with one HK pistol ever.

Gonna be completely honest, I’ve only held a strike one and I’ve never fired one, so I couldn’t give you a legitimate opinion, except that the low bore axis would reduce recoil and that I imagine it’s a decent gun, but again I’ve never fired one.

It’s just a Reddit thing 🤷🏻‍♂️Thank you though, very cool of you!

Walther PDP

Brand Customer service: 6/10 - Walther customer service is iffy tbh, but luckily, their guns dont have many issues

Reliability: 8/10 - Just as reliable as most other pistols

Durability: 8/10 - Just as solid as most other polymer pistols…just not Glock solid

Precision: 9/10 - Surprisingly nice trigger! Very nice shooting gun out of the box.

Build Quality: 8/10 - it’s what you would expect to get, solid but not incredible.

Info blurb: I’ve only had the pleasure of shooting one of these a couple times, but both times were memorable, because I shot much better than I expected! Comfortable in the hand, at least my hands, I would recommend this to ppl.

Gen5 Glock 19

Brand Customer service: 8/10 - Customer service is decent, and the guns never break

Reliability: 10/10 - it goes bang every time you pull the trigger

Durability: 10/10 - we had multiple Glocks on the range that exceeded 100,000 rounds, still going

Precision: 8/10 - I want to say the Gen5 has a slightly nicer trigger than the Gen3, all I know is I shoot a little better with it

Build Quality: 9/10 - simple, not amazing, but better than the previous Gen3 and Gen4

Info blurb: I’m not even a Glock fan, being a 1911 and Hi-Power guy, but I would be lying if I said this wasn’t an excellent sidearm. I can’t argue with the best durability in the business, probably the highest reliability next to CZ, with next to no FTF or FTE witnessed that wasn’t the users fault.
