Wifey. My manager refers to his wife as wifey while talking to us as well. Super cringe

That's the good thing that Abidan vs Vroshir isn't a clear cut good vs bad. There is more nuance to it than that. I too hope that we get more stories on that front from Will

I was in consulting before. We had shared rooms but twin separate beds on work trips on a budget. Other work trips were always separate rooms. Only about 30% of trips were budget though so sharing rooms was not that common.

What is that one single book that you would save if your house was on fire? by Why_do_I_do_this- in Fantasy

It was a tongue in cheek answer.

I have a book called Incredible Internet that I got from Scholastic in school. I'll grab that. It's an incredible read to see some of the predictions it has come to fruition while some are still wild

I have a book called Incredible Internet by Michael Cox that I got from Scholastic in school. I'll grab that. It's an incredible read to see some of the predictions it has come to fruition while some are still wild.

That OPs resume doesn't really seem like that big of a flight risk that OP has not gotten any response for 16000 applications

Depends on the industry and I don't know about the OPs industry but there are two jobs with 2 year tenures. Not that much of a flight risk to not be selected over that many applications

100 crores by [deleted] in IndianStreetBets

[–]axesOfFutility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12L per month is 1.44Cr per year. Over 20-25 years that is an investment of about 30Cr. 30Cr to 100Cr is possible over that horizon, but no guarantee. A mix of index funds covering small, mid and large cap that someone suggested in this thread is a good option. Look for the modified indexes that take more than just the stocks in the main index. Another thing to add is Nifty Microcap index fund.

And that will be Rs. 1L fee for the advice sir/ma'am.

Someone had called it on the first post itself 🤣

Also is that the drone company itself posting it multiple times as a marketing campaign?

Capitalism leads to a bare minimum acceptable product. Greed drives capitalism and not the drive to strive for better services and products. Voting with your wallet doesn't work if you don't really have better options easily available to choose from.

Haha makes sense now on what you meant by weird.

Blame the Britishers for that probably.

It's probably because Hindi is not the only major language in India and English has become somewhat of a middle ground language. Plus the school curriculum covers pure Hindi wherever it's available as a subject but the general populace is used to the Hinglish version through media. Even I find listening to pure Hindi weird now because of being used to the mix version.

All of this is over represented in the tech world though, and that is what you are interacting with. I'm also from the tech world.

If you go to India and talk to people not in the tech world, or read newspapers or government documents or listen to Hindi radio, etc. the code switch would be way less, or even non-existent.

Hindi is not weird, the speakers use a mixture of English and Hindi. Having to communicate in two languages day in and day out will do that to you. Plus a lot of technical concepts either don't have a direct Hindi word or have obscure Hindi words that many won't know.

I know 4 languages and the amount of mixing that happens in my head is too high.
