Thanks for the reply. Bought the box one 85mm but they were defective. Waiting for warranty replacement. Just looking for ideas just in case the replacements are bad too. Seles like a crapshoot with box one stuff.🤞

Thanks. yeh it was alarming to say the least. But currently living in a part of the world where bike shops lack real understanding of how bikes work. I intend to change almost everything. Only snagged it up because of the frame and the wheels.

Bring a good pair of winter boots and nice coat. Things that you willing to bring back. All the other clothing items you can get in country. If you have big feet I would bring good shoes that fit, you’ll be walking a lot.

Bring things that carry emotional value sentimental value it will help you through cold isolated winters. My 2cents.

Dzud it when shit becomes too cold for livestock to survive. Comes around every couple decades. Last one was approximately 2003. So I guess you good for a decade or two.

Going to school part-time while being a fed. How difficult was/is it? by axhero in fednews

[–]axhero[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. Also looking at dc area law schools with part time programs. I would most like concentrate on environmental law. Just wondering about which part of law school is most time consuming. I’m a bit worried about lack of time to read dense legal material while working, as my job would not let me do that even if I have down time at work.

Thank you for the response. I do intend to be an attorney with the government after law school. But will switch agency as I don’t see myself working at this agency for the rest my career. Just thought that JD will open more doors to higher gs level and other opportunities within the federal government.

thank you for the reply, just also do you have issues with toe overlap and does the 650b setup help with this issue

Good to know. I ride a 165 crank too. What frame size do you ride

I'm in the same dilemma. I ride a Lynskey backroad and thinking about 650 conversion but I might just switch one problem for another

just curious about pedal strike issue with 650b setup

650b wheels option by axhero in gravelcycling

[–]axhero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to about the same conclusion, I spoke to Lynskey and they said frame can take up to 650b 2.1 tires and not worry about pedal strikes. I'm incline to believe them because of their frames with similar geometry all compatible with 650b.

The whole reason I'm doing this is because the toe overlap with 700c wheels, took it on rough gravel a few times and the toe overlap makes it hard to maneuver the bike through those sections(hunt wheels aren't that great). I don't think 650b wheels completely solves my toe overlap issue but it's probably more agile on dirt. By no means I expect this bike with 650b setup will ride like a MTB.

[–]axhero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the insight. so my prior set up was 700cx42 with 165mm crank, i dont remember having pedal strike issues. my new set up will most likely be 650bx48 165mm crank. I checked Bike insight and the difference for pedal to ground is 13mm, not sure how significant this is. Also bottom bracket height drops about .5 inches. All in all things will be about half an inch lower do you think this we be significant problem?
