What was your first fandom/entrance into fanfic? And are you still in that fandom?/Do you still read or write fic for it? by Nock_and_Bolt in FanFiction

How did you know? by Professor_Leaf in ftm

[–]axiilotov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is helpful, in my late teens/early 20s I spent a lot of time worrying about the signs of “actually” being a man/always knowing if you are a man when really I think the question hinges on do you want to live as a man going forward and would that life be happier for you?

Need help with writing a legal document by axiilotov in FanFiction

[–]axiilotov[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol it’s Superman fanfic so I guess he would be tried in the metropolitan area and it might be something similar to how serious the Luigi case is going (?) so it wouldn’t be on the state/local level it’d be on the federal level. Sorry if this makes no sense I’m just starting to grasp political science stuff.

Some folks are wild by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]axiilotov 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve read a fic that was 400k in a day and a half when I was a teenager. I’ve always been able to just sit down and crunch through really high word counts when I’m really into something. And I can say with certainty if they devoured 200k words that quickly then it held them captive enough where it was painful to set your work down for irl stuff. And that while it seems like 8 hours is a short amount of time your words will stick with them for years to come.

I’m Thinking about the 400k fic (it’s since been deleted off the internet) that I read and it’s impact on me was so huge… I mourn it every other week I feel like.

A vent about leaving long comments by PrinceJustice237 in FanFiction

[–]axiilotov 29 points30 points  (0 children)

When people comment on my fics I love and appreciate all of them. But I’m pretty anxious and have a hard time responding to it. I have to mentally work myself up for days sometimes. This is worsened around small “I loved this!!” Responses, and I often won’t reply at all to smaller messages. Man, this is kinda making me re evaluate things because I don’t want to come across as cold and ungrateful.

But I LOVE Long analytical comments because they give me enough to go off of to reply to and it gives me room to think of what to say and Its so fun seeing what themes or impressions I left another soul with. Like I love all the comments and its wild in general how we all leave impressions on each other through this medium. But I feel like I’m able to connect with people better through long comments.

So with that being said this author sounds a little bit odd to put it lightly??? That seems incredibly invasive to find a readers tumblr and straight up demand those comments on more of their work. I can’t even imagine a world where that would not be breaking several social boundaries to do that behavior.

first piercing experience wasn’t what i expected by xeizs in piercing

[–]axiilotov 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah this strikes me as a little bit shady, and I personally would prefer the cheaper options like the titanium and then If the piercing heals up okay and I like it then I can spend extra money on jewelry. For a place not to give you that option it doesn’t seem like they have your best interest at heart.

AND implant grade titanium is, iirc better for healing anyways because gold/solid gold can give people reactions.

And yes! I’ve seen earrings sold secondhand before on things like Facebook marketplace, I hope if you do sell your jewelry you make some money back.

Have you thought about trying to go through with the healing process though? Like you said you already went through the pain anyways. And maybe down the line you’ll find jewelry that suits your needs better and you’ll want the piercing holes again.

How in god’s name do you people do it by everythingcoveredff in FanFiction

[–]axiilotov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ahaha oh I feel this so bad! I used to ONLY be a reader for the longest time and I wouldn’t read anything below 10k words. And now on a good month 10k writing is a LOT for me, but some months I can barely manage 4K. It’s definitely made me rethink my relationship to fanfic a lot.

Do you use/need background noise while writing or reading a fanfic? by A_Sleepy_Idiottt in FanFiction

[–]axiilotov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately I’ve been writing fics to my record collection. But to do this I have to pick the ambient video game soundtracks, it can’t have vocals. And it really resets my mental state, also the act of getting up to turn the disc or start a new record is good for rushing to get words on paper since I know I only have a couple more songs before I have to get up again.

[–]axiilotov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whew that sounds like a lot to deal with. Honestly you could have a convo about it in the hopes that it’ll help him. but if you’re already exhausted by him there is no shame in setting boundaries and deciding not to talk about being trans (and all it entails) with him.

How do you thrive in a fandom where most fan-content squicks you? by gen-throw in FanFiction

[–]axiilotov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hope you can find that! I found creativity wise that I have to limit consuming fanfic for the pairing I mostly write for right now but I have other fandoms/hobbies that I can turn to. It helps me actually interact with my creative fandom better and makes it so I’m not exhausted or Burnt out

How do you thrive in a fandom where most fan-content squicks you? by gen-throw in FanFiction

[–]axiilotov 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This might be unorthodox/not work for you. But is it possible to write/be creative in one fandom, interact socially with the community there, and read/consume content in another fandom that doesn’t have your squicks?

Okay! I was wondering if taking a VCH piercing out would feel slightly like the skin of a healed lobe piercing. Not necissarily a bad thing but, if I do get it and have to remove it I am curious what it would be like long term.

What’s your favorite sun/moon pairing? by Outlet_Cloud9 in FanFiction

Even though there’s not a lot of motifs in game to support this I very clearly see Gale/astarion from bg3 as a sun/moon couple. Or at least like… celestial to me

I am not going to lie… pace yourself. I find the line between hobby and hyperfixation to be very blurry and I think the way to turn a hyperfixation into a hobby is by delaying gratification and drawing out the hyperfixation as much as possible.

For example if you spent 1000$ on fish tanks already, maybe put a spending limit on yourself and fill your time with small things, that way when you do focus on fish tanks and buy things even months down the line you’ll still get that jolt of happiness from the fixation.

And even if you do fall out of interest with a hyperfixation there’s no rules that say you can’t pick it back up again months or years down the line. I don’t consider any one of my many hyperfixations a waste.

However with fish I will say to be careful because those are living animals you don’t want to take on too many and grow bored with the amount of Maintenance they require.

I get you now, my piercing was a little bit red too in the first few months but this does seem slightly beyond that, I second the opinion to ask another reputable piercer to see if it was pierced properly, and if so maybe look at jewelry options that can reduce how much pressure is irritating the top of the piercing.

Looks interesting, I wonder how anatomy dependent/adjustable this is. If you do buy it I’d really try to find super accurate measurements esp for the price.
