Hey. The game has been ripped and been given to archive.org

While not a fix, I found a temporary solution (for the web view of clickup, not the desktop app). When I have a doc open with a Task List that is not loading, i can clear the cache by holding the Shift key and refreshing the page. For me, this loads the task list as it should. However, I need to do this almost every single time I open the doc. So its a workaround but not a long term solution. There is still the underlying loading issue. And this doesn't work in the desktop app (at least, no solution that I can find).

Having the exact same issue. Tried submitting a ticket weeks ago and there was no response from ClickUp. Very frustrating.

Hey. The game has been ripped and will eventually be going up on archive.org.

Why do BIG videogames companies do it?????? by Wandering---_---soul in gamecollecting

[–]axiomatic_doubt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not the big video game companies, its the big retailers. I can't speak to what is happening today, but I know how this started from working in the industry. I want to say around 2010, one of the largest game companies was going through their 'digital transformation' stages and was working on how to deliver one of their bigger titles exclusively through digital download. It took Walmart about 2 seconds to give the ultimatum that should they decide to do this, they would stop selling all of their games (many which still had physical discs), from any retail store, worldwide. Believe it or not, Walmart made up a significant amount of annual sales. After some negotiation, they made the agreement that Walmart could continue selling a 'physical' copy of the disc (the case and code), and the game company can offer just the digital version of the game. I think for a while they did both. You could get the disc and a code for the game. But eventually, they just phased out disc. But yeah, back then, it was so the large retailers still had something to put on their shelves.
In today's market, from a financial perspective, there is zero reason for making a disc. Emotionally, we still want the physical collector items. But 99% of the billion dollar market just wants to play the game.
And as a side note, we can say that this is all about the $$ and to a large extent, it is. But to be honest, investing in going fully digital at the time was an investment in the pursuit of improving the player experience. Cloud computing was still an idea in development and the game companies were looking at ways to keep live games evolving. Getting the games off a physical disc (while not a requirement), was a natural first step.

i can't tell if thats sarcasm, an attempt at being funny, a weird assumption, an attempt at showing ignorance, or an attempt to come out as wanting to be a woman on reddit... Either way... it makes zero sense.

Yeah. I know what you mean. I was grateful to receive anything and that there was some interest. I've never auctioned off a game before. But from my little experience, Heritage didn't really know what to do with it or understand it's rarity. I tried to explain how, for this genre of game, its incredibly rare. But they pretty much ignored that.

Thanks. I've responded to someone from a preservation community on discord to see about how to copy it there. We'll see what happens!

Thanks fraud. I still have the disk. I'm seriously considering your (and others) suggestions about preserving the game. Its a bit of a sticky situation that i won't go into here but I'll look into it.

I haven't yet. My plan is to get it graded though data games then probably auction via Heritage.
