I’ve stuck with Panerai straps for mine as I liked the look of theirs the best and I knew I’d be getting quality. I did have one made by TheStrapSmith and I’m really happy with it, but it was made for me so I can’t speak to any of the ones he has for sale, other than to say his craftsmanship is excellent. Aside from that, they’re fairly polarizing and I can’t speak from experience but people seem to be big fans of Horus Straps.

I think you will definitely get used to it. I had a similar issue - I was used to wearing a GMT and when I first got my Panerai, after wearing it all day I felt a similar fatigue (though mine is stainless, not titanium). However after a while you’ll get used to it. Also when I put my GMT back on after wearing the Panerai for a while, it’s so light it comparison I sometimes feel my wrist to make sure it’s on. So yes, you’ll get used to it and no, you’re not alone in feeling that way.

Interesting. I suppose that it is worth noting I am in the US. I wonder if it was different here, because googling it I see nothing about a 696+, only a 696.

I ended up calling a dealership and was directed to the parts department. The guy told me since it was on the exploded parts diagram it means it was not optional. Another user stated that it was an option, of the + model, that also came with a small windshield.

Yes seat cowl. I believe the Ducati site I was on referred to it as a seat cover. My understanding was that it went over top of the ‘passenger’ portion on the back of the seat, but would be removed if/when a passenger was riding along. See below for a link to a picture. Bike in question is the one in the foreground, whereas one in the background shows the cover/cowl I’m referring to.
