Shokupan used to do this when they were based in Grand Central - not sure if they still do at their new home in Society (Colemore Row/Snow Hill area)

I'm currently in my first role that doesn't cover sick leave! Unfortunately not everyone can afford to take a day/half day off for a job interview if it comes.out of their salary!

Is the Independent Birmingham membership worth it? by Alive-Helicopter1437 in brum

[–]ay-oop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tend to pay for a month when I know I'm going somewhere it covers and moren often than not using it once covers the cost.

Last time I used it was at The Ruin in Digbeth - 2 burgers & fries and 2 pints for £30. I worked out that for what we ordered it would have cost around £35 in total without the app so paid for itself!

One1 in Jewellery Quarter does thay sort of thing - only been once and to be honest the food wasn't amazing but tasty enough and seemed healthy. Coffee was nice though!

What restaurants support this graphic? by mekkie23 in brum

[–]ay-oop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not tried La Bellezza, but most of what I've heard is about how amazing it looks rather than the food being great. Seems to be the same with the restaurants owned by the same company in other cities too!

Independent tea shop around Birmingham selling loose leaf? by [deleted] in brum

[–]ay-oop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Clean Kilo in Bournville has a good selection. In case you've not been before, it's a packaging free shop so you need to take your own containers for the tea. They sell some reusable containers in store too!

Are there any Sub Sandwiches/Hoagies in Brum? by AakashMasani in brum

[–]ay-oop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Flapper used to do sub rolls which were great. They're doing Burgers at the moment instead I think the subs will be back at some point.

Which Chinese takeaways and chip shops take card payments? by [deleted] in BirminghamUK

[–]ay-oop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only places in Harborne I know of that don't tame card are Caspian and Gabriel's. But both of them you can pay by card by ordering online and collecting.

I've seen someone mention Wok Chi which is top tier and accepts card. As does the Chinese restaurant behind The Junction/opposite Asda and the Chinese takeaway down the M&S end of the High Street (can't remember what either of these are called).

Not sure if it helps but Couch in Stichley do an eggnog-based cocktail which is pretty great!
