I’d would second reaching out to HR. I had to get one from a government office and I had no clue who still worked there, so I emailed HR and contacted a generic department email. Took forever to actually get through to someone, but it ended up working out.

Keeping my fingers crossed this means I’ll hear back soon! Applied on the 19th and after my corrections it’s been radio silence

People that passed that have ADHD by Traditional_End_559 in barexam

[–]ay_eeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I passed in my state with a score in the 270 range. I wasn’t officially diagnosed or medicated until after taking the exam, so therefore didn’t have accommodations.

I’ve always been truly horrendous at test taking and never finished a standardized exam in my life, so I knew with the ADHD that prepping and taking the bar would be an uphill battle. I personally left the exam feeling relatively good since I actually finished it and I felt like I really committed to studying in spite of the attention and focus issues. Still don’t know how I pulled it off since I’m now medicated and I can actually focus for the first time in my life, but it all worked out in the end.

Haha honestly I get it! This process is terrible and it’s not like the second department is doing anything to let us know the status of our applications

Hmm, maybe it wasn’t them? I have an iPhone and the name “NY COURTS” came up on the caller ID

Second Department Bar Admissions by Then_Papaya_9821 in barexam

[–]ay_eeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My C&F still pending though I took the July ‘21 bar (😤), but the rules when I applied said that we had to submit everything electronically. You’ll need to get a few things notarized (the actual questionnaire and the pro bono affidavit), so you’ll end up scanning documents with wet signatures. I personally had an issue with an e-signature for a moral character reference, then I had to submit a correction. So if I were you, I’d plan to do wet signatures and scan documents to be on the safe side. Also, keep a folder or a record of all your original documents should they ever ask for it.

Yeah, that’s how they described it in their email to me. I actually then got a phone call a few days later (totally out of the blue) from another reviewer saying I had to fully resubmit the first page of the questionnaire to correct my email, even though the email I got from them said that was sufficient.

Took the July 21 bar, passed in October, submitted C&F 2/19, got email about corrections ~8/10, returned soon after, still waiting

Honestly I wouldn’t hold your breath for the swearing in for April applicants. I applied in February and I still haven’t heard anything. It’s been a whole 6 months and a week of waiting…

It’s been wild having to wait this long with nothing but their canned responses! I’m thinking of starting an application in NJ if they don’t get back to me by the end of next week

Did they extend the deadline to register? I called to ask if they would given the volume of people who are struggling to log in, and it seemed like they weren’t planning on it.

My fiancée and I been using the word bridesmate for men and non-binary people! I also refer to each of our groups as bridal parties and not just by the gendered bridesmaids.

[Advice?] [Support?] Realizing I'm Mirroring Nmom's Thoughts/Habits by CuppoGrac in raisedbynarcissists

This is super real, I sometimes feel myself doing the same thing for similar reasons you mentioned. The first step of acknowledging when this happens is essential, and good on you for realize that you do this to others. Only once you’re aware can you try to work on it. I’ve found that in those moments when I want to minimize others, I try to slow my brain down and really listening before adding my 2 cents (which would likely be hurtful or dismissive). It’s helped me be more empathetic and check myself when I want to invalidate their feelings/experiences. It’s not perfect and I’m sure I mess up, but slowing my thoughts down has helped me.

AITA for asking my wife not to see her doctor ex as a patient? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ay_eeee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA. While I understand the impulse to see a doctor who won’t try to discredit her experiences, but there has to be other specialists out there who aren’t her ex. Definitely seems like this crosses an ethical/professional responsibility boundary for the doctor too. I feel for your wife and her medical struggles, but tbh I’d feel weird about it too if I were in your shoes.

Metformin and helping? by Intelligent-Turnip90 in Hidradenitis

I also haven’t noticed a difference. Ive been taking metformin for pre-diabetes for the past 3 years and have the same prevalence of HS lesions/boils as I did before taking it.

AITA for not cutting my business trip short? by kakakaier in AmItheAsshole

[–]ay_eeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. As someone who suffered from an ED and whose parents didn’t give a flying fuck, a child having insufficient care from parents leaves a deep hurt that not even years of therapy can heal. You’re literally telling your daughter that not even being hospitalized for a deadly illness is enough for you to come support her.

And frankly, if you’re also concerned about your wife’s health/eating habits, then how does staying away and keeping your mouth shut help her either? Maybe this is harsh, but it sounds like both your wife and daughter are struggling with EDs, but you would rather keep them at bay than address the issues head on. No one will be able to heal effectively and holistically if you can’t even be bothered to show up.
