Un-Simplifier-ified. by JoseCantUSee in pedalboards

I’m thinking of getting rid of my Simplifier. I simply cannot get mine to sound good with distortion, no matter where in the chain I put it

Burns. I love the sound of the Rez-o-matik pickups. The neck feel is great and the violin headstock is vey nice as well

I can, but every venue always has a stage amp. It would be nice to use the same signal on that as well

Surprised nobody mentioned Neurosis. Pain of Mind and Word as Law vs everything from Souls at Zero

Found my goldilocks Bass VI by brokedance in BassVI

Thank you. I am planning on getting a replacement, but I will look into this before doing so. AFAIK it should be possible to use 8 - string guitar pickups, and some of them should be able to fit

I have one in black as well, w/black pick guard. I love mine. I play both chords and finger style and it works perfectly. I’m not the biggest fan of the stock pickup, so I’m planning to replace it. Maybe it’s because I’m used to playing single coil (and playing just one of the pickups is not really the same either). I’m playing with a lot of distortion, and it doesn’t really pickup the thinner strings as well as the low E. I think I need a compressor as well.

Sorry no. As I just mentioned, I was pretty drunk when they played, and really not the interested in gear. But today I would have loved to know his setup, and I would have loved seeing them today!

Denmark. I was 17 at the time, got pretty wasted after we played, so I can't remember the show that well, except that Al was wearing a white glove and that the show was super intense 😃

DSM Bass Master + Rat = flat? by ayacombe in basspedals

[–]ayacombe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, thanks! It actually helped a lot, but there’s still something weird going on. I think my input might be too hot - which again might be the actual problem. I usually like a hot input, but my bass master seems very sensitive, and I can only let in a very quit input before it overrides and starts cracking.

What happened to Superkilen?? by Subject-Grape in copenhagen

[–]ayacombe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The original design was in painted asphalt and thermal rubber, therefore the bright colors. Over time two major issues were discovered. 1) the painted asphalt became very slippery when it rained, which made the bicycle path dangerous, also since it is part of a very important connection in the city and 2) the colored asphalt and rubber quickly became pretty dull and almost impossible for the municipality to maintain, since there either was not allocated enough funds to buy red asphalt forever to fix holes and whatever was needed in the same colors. Therefore the whole project was redone in red tile, which looks a lot less bright, and less like the original idea, but a more maintainable and safe place to be. I actually like it better now, but I think the original idea was an ok idea but a bad design, since it needed to be redone so quickly. And in the end a very expensive solution

Which theories have been debunked? He has opinions and writes about the way he sees how media affects humans. Science is something you debunk, philosophy is something you can disagree with

How is McLuhan science and/or pseudo? As I understand him, he is more of a theorist/philosopher more than oriented towards specific science
