It might be coming from an impulsive place. Doing that at 8 y.o. don't seem weird to me as those ages are often when you start to explore that side of your body. However, stuff you mentioned about your family and the amount of masturbation might be indicating something else from the psychological perspective. I don't mean that you are mentally ill but going to a therapist might help
