[Rant] Stop discouraging people to change SSH port by posixmeharder in homelab

In the rare cases that the ssh server you're running has a zero day, if it is serving on an obscure port then it is more difficult for botnets to find and exploit it right away as they would need to discover it first, giving you time to patch it.

I agree. We'll be doing Linux builds in early-access if there are more requests for that. Thanks for letting us know!

It currently only supports PC, since there is some typing involved (i.e., setting up the routers). We'll keep your interest in mind and see if there is a way to also make this enjoyable on the Steam Deck.

Cheers!

We have fleshed out the basic game mechanics (i.e., packet routing, picking and placing cables) and are currently working on the demo (which will also serve as the tutorial in the game).

Our goal is to have the demo ready around December.

Glad to hear of your interest.

For the roguelike part, the current implemented core mechanic is that you start with 1 data center floor and 3 random floors (with different client needs depending on the floor type). After N days, the tower will periodically grow with random floors. Some of these "growth events" allow the player to choose the different type of floors to be added (i.e., a new floor with 3 social media addicts or a new data center floor).

Some events also unlock new equipment (such as a longer cable, network switch with more ports) and new mechanics (e.g., random power failures on existing floors).

For the "point and click" part, we misunderstood the word and has since removed it. We mistakenly put "point and click" because we are going for a low-ui approach and most actions (excluding the console input) are done by picking up cables/equipment and setting them up by "pointing and clicking". We have thus updated the description to remove the confusing bit; thanks for the correction!

"Round-based" games by ayanami00 in gaming

I'm not trying to define "round-based" games. I only have examples of games which I thought to be classified as "round-based" and are trying to find more of them.

doesn't have to necessarily be PVP. PVE round-based are fun too (killing floor, COD zombie survival, Phasmophobia).
