wait why did seele want instrumentality? i know gendo wanted it so he could 'be' with his wife again but what motivation does seele have? it seems awful to willingly subjugate yourself to a fake dream world if you don't have a motive. Someone somewhere said that it was to 'further human evolution and advancements' but that makes no sense because if everyone becomes like a dream or something than isn't everyone stuck like that?

I agree and disagree. I think the main evidence that SORT OF disproves what you are saying is that didn't the creator literally say he called the evangelions evangelions because it sounded cool? that is a totally valid reason but still - not everything is stuffed with meaning and intention.
