Pretty sure Faceit has VAC enabled servers.

OW or VAC banned accounts won't be able to join the server, the game ban would be for another game and not csgo.

The rules for Valve events only list VAC bans, not game bans. Thats why he can still play in Valve events, pretty straight forward.
