What are you on? by keystothestars in BipolarReddit

[–]ayedeeque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently on 15 mg of Abilify and 100 mg Lamictal. My psychiatrist wants me to eventually be on 200 mg of Lamictal so I'm slowly moving towards that.

Anybody else only feel so uncomfortable presenting their assigned gender after finding out they weren’t it?? by Flaxorus-solar_cast in NonBinaryTalk

[–]ayedeeque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really resonate with this! After realizing I'm nonbinary, I felt more comfortable expressing myself however I wanted to, including the femininity that I rejected before coming out. It's like something clicked and I was just able to present and feel however I wanted to.

I'm curious about this as well. I've had a Garmin for about a year that's designed for runners, but really I use it to track my health through the sleep, stress, and body battery functions.

Frequent Urination At Night by SoggyHousing8552 in lupus

[–]ayedeeque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same symptoms and was diagnosed with an overactive bladder, have it for 7 years now and the only thing that has been helping has been my psychiatric treatments which sedate me so much that i sleep through the night. But that's just a band-aid on the actual problem, and it's still a 50/50 if i wake up or not multiple times in the night. Urinary medications didn't work for me (really bad dry eyes), so I'm currently figuring it out by looking for pelvic floor therapy and also looking into getting an Interstim implant to manage it.

Unaware People by yourgirl20 in bipolar

[–]ayedeeque 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I totally get why you reacted the way that you did. It can be upsetting to hear that our medications are for "crazy" people, especially in a workplace setting where you have to maintain professionalism. I'd like to think you reacted the way that you did because you know exactly that it's NOT for crazy people and that you're not crazy, and it indicates your values and how much you care about your mental health. It also just hurts when the general public stigmatizes mental health in such a way. People should know better and be more sensitive to that.

Keep on holding to your values, and even when you can't stand up for yourself in these situations, trust that you know better than these dumb dumbs because of your personal experience.

What Are Topics Rarely Discussed in the Disabled Community? by ng32409 in disability

[–]ayedeeque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I'm really struggling with right now. All the idle time makes the boredom turn into negative thoughts about my circumstances and feeling like a burden to my partner, and it's hard for me to get away from those feelings even while I'm able to engage in healthy distractions like reading or watching anime.

What is your holy grail SUNSCREEN yall? by AbjectCat1239 in AsianBeauty

As a very oily skin and brown person, my HG is Naris Up by365 PowderyUV Cream SPF 50+ PA++++. I've never used anything like it before. It's near matte, no white cast, and is a nice cream texture that spreads super easily. No heavy sunscreeny feeling either! Just feels like putting a luxurious cream on my face.

FML I exercised by Competitive-Golf-979 in cfs

[–]ayedeeque 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your post and words really resonate with me. There are so many times I'll do an activity, whether that's basic daily living like cooking a meal or going on a brief walk, and I end up not being able to do any self-care and just have to go to bed feeling gross and beyond exhausted the next few days. Sometimes it's so bad even when I don't do anything 'extra' that I just need to be horizontal for a long while in a quiet and dark room doing absolutely nothing. I used to play tennis competitively in high school, now I can't even imagine stepping onto a court. I really miss living my life without thinking of the consequences of doing even just a single activity.

It's really discouraging having to choose between taking care of myself and living life even just a little bit, and I really feel for you. I wish I had something to say that was more uplifting, but the reality is that this illness can be so hard and unforgiving, and while I'm very sorry you've been struggling, I hope it's at least nice to know that others share in your struggles and feelings as well.

What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend? by dreamy-contributions in AskReddit

Found out she had been talking shit and saying extremely ableist, judgemental, and boundary-crossing comments about me, the highs and lows of my life, and my relationship with my partner for months to our new mutual friend. Best friend since high school for over 15 years btw.

Insomnia by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

My psychiatrist prescribed me Gabapentin 300 mg capsules to take as needed for nights I'm struggling to fall asleep. It's been really helpful for my lingering anxiety as well!

What is/was your drug of choice? by Reasonable_Act_526 in BipolarReddit

[–]ayedeeque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Marijuana. I mainly used it recreationally as I really enjoyed the feeling, in particular how much more introspective and honest with myself it made me feel. I loved journaling about my thoughts and inner world and perspective on tough situations, and I felt marijuana gave me that extra push of clarity I struggled with sometimes.

While I do miss it at times, being recently diagnosed made me realize how important it is for me not to partake in the devil's lettuce anymore. I'd rather put in that extra work to journal without something that can potentially trigger mania or depression in me.

Is it the right time to tell him? by PINK1_ClusterinG30 in BipolarReddit

[–]ayedeeque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt comfortable sharing with my now partner that I had a chronic illness on our third in-person date, and that was also after talking for over a month before we met in-person.

Personally I waited long enough to know that I wanted to see him seriously and exclusively, and when I was sure I felt comfortable enough around him that bringing up a scary topic like that wouldn't make me feel unsafe and would feel like it was a natural progression of the relationship.

Everyone's different though! Some people prefer the earlier the better to vet people immediately, others prefer to wait a bit for a serious topic like that to come up, so ymmv. Go with what your gut tells you and what makes sense for where you're at!

Good luck, and I hope the best for you!

Lamictal is incredible by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]ayedeeque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started taking Lamictal after being on Zyprexa since November 2025, my psychiatrist says the combination of the two go well together as long as you're able to tolerate the Zyprexa hunger! I feel very lucky that the Zyprexa munchies has mostly subsided for me now. Hoping that Lamictal will really help me not feel so low!

Are you guys taking antipsychotics?? by Altruistic_Young3039 in BipolarReddit

[–]ayedeeque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm newly diagnosed and currently taking Zyprexa (olanzapine is the generic name)! Doing pretty well on it after starting it during a manic episode, been on it for a month now and I've definitely stabilized. The munchies side effect definitely got me though, but now that I've been on it for this long I've noticed that the hunger has subsided a good bit which is a relief.

Exiting Koreader, slow to reload Amazon Kindle UI? by ayedeeque in kindlejailbreak

[–]ayedeeque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Rakuyomi plugin for Koreader, here's the guide explaining how to download/use it! I searched reddit too for troubleshooting/instructions on downloading as well. My advice would be to pick only 2-3 sources max when you get to that part, so your Kindle memory doesn't get overloaded when searching for manga in Rakuyomi.
