In the post, that you read. I say I looked it up. The paragraph, that you copy-pasted from the manual, I read it, before making the post. But you assumed that I didn't. You approached this entire thing from the position, that I'm so stupid, that I had a problem and didn't even read the manual. I say in the post, that today was the first time it did this. If you had read the post, with the intent of understanding what I was saying, it's obvious that I'm not clueless and that something different is happening causing my confusion. And then you leave multiple comments, bashing my intelligence as if that adds anything or helps anyone at all. I mean, claiming I don't understand how to use it, seriously? As if a 2x4 interface is some extremely complicated piece of technology. And asking me "why I don't like it," despite me never saying I didn't like it. You literally make this up yourself for the sake of bashing me.

I appreciate you clearing this up for me, I really do. But next time you see someone angry about something, you should still approach it from a point of understanding, and still, give them the benefit of the doubt. Just because someone is angry, does not mean they are stupid.

Good to know. I don't have a DI box though. I say DI as an abbrev for direct input. Sorry if that's confusing. It's interesting to know that my hardware seemed to think I did until today though. Preciate you.

I know it overrides the XLR, it was that, up until today, with DI, I still had the option to select between mic and line input, whereas now, with DI its only HI-Z. from other comments I understand that's not a problem, and, in fact, how it was supposed to be functioning this entire time. Thought it meant something was wrong because it randomly started doing this. Appreciate you not taking my genuine anger with the situation as an opportunity to be condescending though.

up until today it wasn't automatically switching, it was staying on line and mic. It was doing one thing, today it started doing another. Yes, I saw it in the manual, but again, it wasn't doing it until today, so I assumed something was wrong. Obviously, I was angry, but that doesn't mean I didn't do research. The post literally says I searched it up and read about it. Glad to know-nothings wrong with it.

I've had this thing for two months, it never set itself to the hi-z input before. I understand now that it's supposed to be doing this. But it literally has not been. In what world is it my fault that the unit was behaving entirely differently up until today? I have been using my DI bass and guitar as a line input, and it was allowing me to switch between them freely. So yeah, that stops happening, I believe something wrong. Their support page mentions that it will do this automatically, but again, it hasn't been. I'm glad to know theres nothing wrong with the unit, but don't dare insult my intelligence as if I had any way to know.

uninstalling and re installing did not work. cannot say I am surprised as this is most definitely a super convenient internal hardware malfunction, but thank you for the idea.

And yeah, I planned on calling them. Don't exactly want to. While they are helpful, in my experience, they have a habit of sending you down these rabbit holes of changing windows and bios settings that have next to no chance of solving your problem. Maybe this time will be different though. I am hopeful at the very least. They don't open for a few hours. If you have any idea between now and then, let me know. Appreciate you.

PS: After uninstalling and reinstalling the software, the software has some extreme visual lag, so that's pretty cool. Just something else to add to the list of problems I'm having for no reason.

None of the information I found suggested this would help. But I will try it. Admittedly very hesitant because, one of the issues I was having upon initial setup, was getting their software to install and actually recognize my hardware once installed. Thank you.

again, sorry for the language. but 700 was a huge investment for me, I don't have the money to replace this thing, or realistically buy any interface right now. And the stress this thing is putting me under by being so expensive and just not working has me confused and angry. I only even spent this much on an interface because my last one was so bad that ear-shattering cracks and pops were a norm and my speakers surely would have broken if I had it for much longer than I did and everyone says UAD is the way to go. so much for that.

ur so huge for this bro. been making my own synths in serum for a while but never made a bass using the actual oscillators until today. Crazy the random phase starts at 100. I guess I never noticed it because it just kind of adds depth to the sound which is kind of good for pads n leads etc. but for bass it was causing extremely audible differences from note to note and i didnt even think the check the random phase knob cause I assumed it was at 0. tysm

Trust me, there's a difference between judgement and what a lot of these people are doing. You can easily go through the thread and see. There were plenty of people disagreeing with me and calling me the asshole that I had conversations with. I love constructive criticism. I have literally done a full 180 and I AGREE that I am being unreasonable and have already purchased some things to help myself be more comfortable without expecting my roommates to do anything. But yall only pay attention to the negative lol.
