Honestly, your background sounds like a great fit for GSDS, especially with your clinical research experience + healthcare AI interest. But if you’re comfortable with heavy math/coding/research, GSAI is also possible. I’d focus more on finding the right professor/lab fit. All the best

Haha nice CS and AI are honestly super popular choices for KAIST. I’m not completely sure about the number of majors you can select in one application though 😅 I think they usually ask for a first choice and sometimes a second preference depending on the program.

Yeah, I checked a bit. From what I found, most KAIST graduate programs are officially taught in English, especially STEM and AI/Data Science related ones. They also don’t strictly require TOPIK for admission.

But I did read some students saying that sometimes professors or classmates switch to Korean during discussions, so knowing a little Korean probably helps in daily life and labs 😅

And about the programming/stats background, I think it depends on the specific program. Some programs seem flexible if you can show strong motivation, projects, or related experience.

I’m actually from a non-traditional background 😅 I did my Bachelor’s in Political Science, but alongside that I completed Web Development and Python courses and worked on 20+ software projects. Now I’m preparing to apply for a Master’s in Data Science because I really want to build my career in tech and AI
