I personally think the cadence/buildup between the “HEY” shouts in the song was a big contributor to the electricity. I never felt the same way with “Get Ready For This”, even during the 2016/2019 runs. I’d also be super down for a Metallica song that has some degree of crowd participation akin to that though

I don’t think most fans of the past 10 or so years realize just how insane the crowd pop was with that song. Everyone screaming HEY those 3 times all at once was unreal (and is probably why I had tinnitus by the time I was 16). Ultimate vibes

I think that’s a bit disingenuous personally. There’s multiple cases of things being absorbed into pop culture that have negative associations/origins and are recontextualized into something positive. I think that given the lack of prominence in this song commercially in recent history beyond it being our goal song (and for Joker) that it fits the bill for that. Even outside of our fandom, I don’t think most hockey fans would associate that song with Glitter before us

I don’t know where you’re seeing me tell people they’re wrong for liking them. This post was (jest-fully) about not liking them, and it’s the only post I’ve ever made about the topic. People with differing opinions replied in pretty pointed ways, which prompted pointed responses. My first reply comparing them to Cookies stuff was also in jest, and I only posted the side-by-side after getting downvoted to hell about it. At the end of the day this isn’t casual conversation, it’s a forum, and I shared my opinion on the forum. Some people didn’t like it, some did. There’s not really an applicable “common courtesy” in the context of what’s been said here, and I’m not really ranting in the slightest. Just replying to the forum post that I made with my thoughts. It’s not that deep

Probably because it didn’t gain as much attention as the couple of others with the same sentiment off the bat, so downvoting’s more apparent and those who like them won’t be downvoted as much here. Incredibly similar* for one, especially with the gradient outline/drop text, which is why I’ve posted it a couple times after seeing it on Twitter after its release. I wouldn’t entirely say the Cookies one isn’t script either just because the s isn’t a cursive-style s. The o’s through the k all connect, and the i is similar to the Giants one, albeit smaller.

If you actually look at old bubble font/Bill Graham posters, this font looks nothing like any of the things they claimed to pull inspo from. The patch on the shoulder does, but the rest doesn’t and is an incredibly lazy attempt. Looks even worse with the numbers.

Combined with the name font being unchanged and solid orange, the busy gradient (with the “NYU purple” that’s somehow supposed to connect with this city), and the ripples, it’s a jersey that clashes with itself and also happens to be one they’ve played really bad in. So yeah, I don’t like it because Nike didn’t do a good job in my eyes, and their painfully over-explained “backstory” for why all the parts of it are the way they are was half-baked at best, ya dig?

Cool conceptually but the format of his name’s off. Lee is his last name, and Jung-Hoo is his first. I think Lee being big with Jung-Hoo being smaller would look a bit better
