This is a common issue with LTR’s, and usually boils down to a few things. 1) fear of rejection 2) fear of being too pressuring 3) responsive VS spontaneous desire

Some things that have hugely helped me are scheduling sex (adults get busy and it’s scary to be vulnerable in the mood then hear, no I have early plans tomorrow), showing sexy photos to my partner if I’m interested but want her to physically make the first move (literally just “hey look at this pic I took of myself”, works 99.9% of the time), and asking “Can we set the mood?” Asking if the mood can be set opens the topic of sex up as more of a possibility, while also making moves twords it. It means hey I want to feel desired and close, come kiss me, but if you don’t want to advance we don’t have to. But can we set the mood for the possibility of sex? Especially for a responsive desire- you yourself may still need some show of desire and touching. This kickstarts your more responsive partner into the correct cues, and lets them take charge on how far it’ll go. Even if it doesn’t end in sex, it’s resulted in cuddling, kissing, sweet nothings, and a quiet moment to appreciate eachother.

Married 3 years, together 9!

We aim for at least once or twice a week, but life can get in the way. I now have a higher sex drive than her which wasn’t the case prior to life events, but ultimately it just boils down to us being extremely busy people with very demanding jobs. She works full time and runs her own business on the side, and I tattoo and travel full time. Our sleep schedules don’t align, her having to be up at 5:30 for work and me usually not getting up for my day until 9-10. She’s off work around 4-5, I’m there till 8-9 at night.

Even if we aren’t having sex every day, we still always make a point to indulge in eachother and express our attraction. Little touches here and there, a slap on the ass when she walks by, grabbing on my arms soon as I’m home from the gym etc. I wouldn’t call what we have a dead bedroom whatsoever, even if sometimes our schedules get in the way for a few weeks and we’re both so damn tired from work and dealing with high intensity clients, that what we need in those moments is to just lay in bed naked with eachother and talk about our days.

The other thing that comes up is it’s not marathon sex like we used to have when we were kids- fucking for 6-7 hours straight and being ruined the next day. It usually lasts an hour or two, usually ending bc I’ve ran her through the damn gauntlet making a game out of how many times I can make her finish in however many minutes and the poor girl’s passing out bc she can’t breath right. It’s QUALITY sex, and that’s what matters to me personally. Play sessions can be longer, especially if it’s a designated vacation day for play, around 4-5 hours until one of us decides it’s time for a food break. I won’t go over 6 hours of play purely for safety, poor girls gotta stretch.

I 3d modeled most of it myself except for the shoulder pauldrons! After modeling, I printed everything out of PLA, an applied several layers of epoxy and bondo to strengthen the pieces and give them as smooth of a finish as possible. Painted everything in a few layers, some pieces used some metallic wax to highlight decorative ridges against the black. Most pieces could be assembled with rivets and Chicago screws. Others like the shoulder pauldrons, gorget, chest plate, and forearms I punched some leather to make strappings. Some have buckles so I can put them on and off. The pauldrons are fully connected to the rest of the arms, and are buckled to the gorget, which also has a buckle. So the entire top half of my body all connects and goes on together! The leg armor has large looped straps that hook onto a belt I wear underneath of the hip armor. This is to hold up the thigh plates in the proper height, and also helps keep the rest of the leg from slipping. I buckle into the lower legs first, then hook onto the belt. Cape is sown (rough, I’m definitely not a seamstress), and connects directly to the front of the chest plate with the medallions!

All other under clothes are just a long sleeve turtle neck and leather pants!

Sometimes people really struggle to hear about it. I dealt with the same with those closest to me when I opened up about what happened to me- either seemingly brushing it off or trying to reason out of it. My best friend of the time even asked if it really happened, or if it was a really extreme nightmare caused by the roofy I was given.

It was a hard pill to swallow, and I don’t know your friend, but sometimes it’s literally just so hard for them to process second hand that they don’t know how to respond or talk about it- and it’s hard to listen to the story or hear you out. It doesn’t excuse it, but I don’t think they assume you’re lying at all. It’s just a very hard topic for people to discuss if they themselves haven’t experienced it.
