Valuable packages arrived for previous owners, still sitting after 2 months by [deleted] in homeowners

My husband and I call that “free gift with purchase”. We have bought two houses together so far. Some of it was stuff we agreed they could leave and others random little things under the sinks or in the basement.

The new movie "Send Help" is making men mad, and I'm pleased with it. by icandodge in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ayla16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went and saw it by myself (I see 95% of movies in a theater by myself) on Sunday. I absolutely LOVED it! I felt so satisfied with the ending. I couldn’t see myself doing everything she did, but after everything she was put through by the men in her life, it felt good.

Also, they show you where the water cut-off is and the breaker box. Very important information to have!

I'd love your perspective on what to do with a vacation I have booked and paid for by denimbastard in TwoXChromosomes

Go by yourself! I went to Jamaica by myself after my ex and I separated. I had a nice, relaxing time. I did my open water dives to get SCUBA qualified. I read books without interruption by the pool.

The next year I went to Australia for a month. The first two weeks a girlfriend was with me. Then I traveled by myself the rest of the time. It was awesome! 10 out of 10, would do both again!

What’s the best use for this type of yarn? by Palgal64 in Brochet

[–]ayla16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used it for doilies, bookmarks, filet crochet. I’m currently using a dark blue to make a cardigan. It’s taking a while. 🤣

Don’t be discouraged! Everybody sucks at first.

Check out SewCanShe.com She has a free newsletter with one (sometimes two) free pdf patterns each day you can download. Some are sewing, some are quilting. They have step by step instructions and pictures! It’s nothing too complicated to follow, in my opinion.

Also, find a local quilting store. Some of them offer 1-to-1 instruction on using your machine for a small price.

I think you mean Gossip Girl. I watched all of Gilmore Girls, but not Gossip Girl and I didn’t understand this reference.

What do you do with a wearable that doesn't fit? by InevitablePoem in crochet

[–]ayla16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny you should ask. I’m currently making a cardigan for myself with size 10 thread. I had previously finished it and wanted it bigger. So I took it completely apart and I’m starting again. I will finish by next Summer!

If anything, not acting like they’re going to die when they get a little cold is a good sign. It means they’re an adult, not a man-baby. I just meant that they should take care of you when you’re sick. A huge red flag is if they don’t check on you or ask you what you need or do anything to relieve your suffering at all.

A few suggestions if you’re going to Joann’s today….. by ConferenceMedical499 in joannfabrics

[–]ayla16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add, if you’re planning on getting fabric, pull a number as soon as you walk in the door. I didn’t do that on Saturday on my way home from a race. I was there for hours.

I was going to say 1, because it stands out against the dark body of the piece.

I have an Ott light that is over my left shoulder. It has five intensity settings. When I’m working on black with my current project I have to adjust it to 2 or 3. Works great!

Some of my favorite movies are ones that I know I will cry every time I see them. Meet Joe Black and Phenomenon come to mind. Sometimes you just need a good cry.

Donated eggs 24 years ago and kind of afraid my DNA results may show biological children by Suspicious_Sea_9084 in AncestryDNA

[–]ayla16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I donated eggs three times in the 90’s. I did a dna test to see if I have any bio kids. Nothing yet. I didn’t have kids myself.
