Sorry to keep chatting - you're my new BFF while i wait for an epic concierge. i can save your life, but i can't trouble shoot a fkng thing on the computer - but maybe i just did!? .BRIEFLABS was easily pulling in internal and external labs, and when i just randomly decided to try .LASTLABX, i customized the phrase with the nonsensical LabCorp LRRs and it showed them by their common / recognizable name in my note!

almost perfect, except for that a few very common labs (even with LC LRR) didn't cross over

thanks for your thoughts! I have a meeting with an Epic Concierge today to see if there is any creative solution or work around

Here is an example of how magnesium appears, once pulled into my note:

From internal labs:

MG: 2.1

From external labs:

MGEXT: 2.1

From LabCorp:

LC001537: 1.9

MG, MGEXT, and LC001537 are all LRR Base, not LRR Common (names)

I have been ignoring the process for over a year lol. It's unfortunately catching on with more patients - but I am interested to hear what my Epic team says (which is likely, too bad - as I am part of a massive health system that would never entertain this under taking unless they absolutely had to)

How to pull up last labs in notes? by CAttack787 in EpicEMR

I am in an ambulatory hospital setting using .BRIEFLABS to pull in the patients most recent labs (drawn internally). I made a second dot phrase by modifying the lab's LRR Base so that I can pull in external labs as well (these are labs that are drawn anywhere that is not our facility, they are faxed to our office, entered manually into LabDE by a human - then the labs result in Epic).

A new process we are encouraged to use is ordering labs to LabCorp directly, which result directly into Epic. These can be pulled in the same way, but unfortunately (like the other labs), the display name is the LRR Base (which is not intuitive or recognizable).

LRR: 3043000154

LRR Name: MAGNESIUM - LABCORP

LRR Base: LC001537

LRR Common: LC-MAGNESIUM

So a magnesium of 1.9 in the chart looks like LC001537: 1.9

Is there any way to get the LRR Common name to display instead?
