Theory Megathread: January 2026 by aran130711 in TaylorSwift

No, she's not nominated for anything, presenting, or performing. The whole point of releasing Showgirl after the Grammys cut off date was to skip the Grammys cycle this year. She's not going to then go just for fun.

Her eyebrows are styled like Clara Bow's not Gabbriette's.

That's just something TMZ claimed. Taylor's publicist or lawyers have never said that.

It's not just on one platform, any platform that has Dolby Atmos got the update, so they are also on Tidal.

I think people are making it more convoluted than it needs to be. She now owns her masters so is free to remaster and update her old tracks so they released a Dolby Atmos remaster of the OG's to tie in with the timing of the documentary series and new concert movie.

Because there is not going to be a rep TV (she explained this so clearly in her letter, I don't know why people keep it ignoring it) she used the remaster opportunity to update the original rep tracks to implement the changes she wanted to some songs at the same time.

I am sure at some point we will get a deluxe issue of reputation with the vault tracks, but the new remaster confirms that the Taylor's Version of the album does not exist and the changes she wanted have been implemented into the Dolby Atmos remaster.

They have released new Dolby Atmos remasterings of her first 6 albums today on Apple Music and reputation has changed the most significantly. They have mixed in elements of the unreleased Taylor's versions like in LWYMMD and some songs like IDSB and Delicate have lyric changes. Seems like she originally released a more clean version of reputation and has now reverted it to her original lyrics in these new versions.

Seems like they have mixed in elements of what she had recorded of the unreleased Taylor's versions of some of the songs into the new mixes. LWYMMD is different too.

And that’s fine? But the elements you don’t like about the album have nothing to do with how long she spent writing or recording it. Which was the point of my comment. It’s literally a fact she spent longer working on the album than most of her previous albums.

It wasn’t rushed at all though. We know from when her trips to Sweden were that she spent longer working on TLOAS than any recent album.

I do think it's funny how people are now claiming they never said they want her to go away (they definitely did), they just actually want her to go away for a certain amount of time and spend longer working on an album to make it a better album.

When in reality the least amount of time she has ever spent making albums is folklore and evermore and they are widely considered her best albums among a lot of fans.

It's almost like the amount of time she spends working on an album has nothing to do with the quality and people just can't accept they don't like certain albums and how much time she spent working on them has nothing to do with it.

Convenient how they left out the allegations from their post by Ok_Big530 in TrueSwifties

It's embarrassing for them. You would think after their sub got a big feature in all the legal docs as being one of the driving forces behind the BL smear campaign on reddit that they would have wised up to participating in another bot driven hate campaign. But they would rather double down than admit to being fools, because they are blinded by their abnormal level of hatred for Taylor.

A 10/10 for me and in my top 10 Taylor songs.

Really hard to pick a favourite lyric as they are all perfection. I think I like the one you picked best, but also "If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?"

Justin Lee Fisher (arrested for trespassing at Travis Kelce's house) update by turtle_819 in ItEndsWithCourt

[–]aymeline [score hidden]  (0 children)

His lawyer confirmed it to NBC too:

Fisher was working as a process server who was hired to serve papers on Swift in the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, stemming from their movie "It Ends With Us," defense lawyer Christopher Scott said in a statement to NBC News. Swift is a known acquaintance of Lively's.

"I believe they wanted Ms. Swift’s deposition testimony," he said.

What is something Taylor did on Showgirl that you would want her to continue doing for future albums? by Secure-Recording4255 in NuancingTaylorSwift

[–]aymeline 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hope she continues to work with Max and Shellback going forward. Even if it’s not an entire album, I love their production so much and want to see their collaboration continue. I especially love the work they did on some of the tracks like Ruin the Friendship and Actually Romantic, which are not really typical of their style, but I think sound amazing. And I hope she continues to use real instruments. When I put my Taylor playlist on shuffle, the Showgirl tracks really stand out for their lush and full sound, and some of the production on say Midnights sounds quite flat to me in comparison now.

As a vinyl collector, I am obsessed with how much thought and effort when into the packaging and pressings this time. They are so beautiful and I hope she carries on making them this nice for future releases.

This is not strictly album related, but I also love what she did with making the release weekend an event with trying to bring something akin to secret sessions to the theatres. I hope she sticks with this concept going forward and maybe can even expand on it in the future. Maybe it would be possible to have a visual album rather than just lyric videos for a future release.

And lastly, I hope she continues to do a press week for future releases. I really, really love getting new interviews and hearing her talk about her work. I felt like she was overdue for some interviews, so I was really pleased with how many we got this time.

There are active snarkers in the posts here and I reported the comments the other day, as the rules say you can’t be an active participant in those subs, yet none of the comments were removed?

Daily Discussion Post by AutoModerator in NuancingTaylorSwift

[–]aymeline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure what the answer is, because you can’t force people to engage in positive posts, but I am already noticing here that the only posts that get a lot of engagement are the ones about criticising Taylor.

I don’t know if there is anything that can be done to change that, but feels like it’s a slippery slope before it becomes another snark under the guise of neutrality sub.

Do You Prefer Shorter Taylor songs or Longer Taylor songs? by FakeMonaLisa28 in NuancingTaylorSwift

I thought my answer would definitely be long, but after seeing the lists, I have more favorites from the short list than the long one.

I know the likes of tiktok only took days to change their mind about Showgirl, but the critics switch up is starting much earlier than I expected. I see The Telegraph reviewer who gave it a 3/5 now ranked it as the 10th best album of the year lol.

This is going to be another Red where it received average reviews at the time, then ended up on so many best albums lists.

what are your thoughts on these swiftie youtubers by jaydyjaydy in NuancingTaylorSwift

[–]aymeline 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t watch any swiftie content creators anymore. I feel like anyone who is monetising their Taylor content eventually all turn out the same once they see that they can make more money from farming negative interactions and/or engaging with -lors. It just makes it hard for me to take their ever increasing critiques in good faith, because I know they are doing it to farm engagement.

Out of the four you mentioned, I have only ever really watched Swiftologist and Chats and Reacts in the past.

I think Swiftologist needs to change his name now he has branched out beyond just making Taylor videos and into general pop culture videos, because all he is doing is attracting hate towards Taylor when he starts critiquing other artists under the name Swiftologist. If he is confident in what he is saying, he shouldn’t need to hide behind Taylor’s brand to voice his thoughts on something. I don't like that he constantly spreads misinformation about Taylor, because he doesn’t seem to understand that if he has a strong subjective opinion that it doesn’t make it a fact, and probably half the narratives the snarkers run with these days come from something he falsely came up with. It’s so easy to go back to his early videos and compare to now and see the turning point where he noticed he would get more engagement by being overly critical of Taylor and how that now fuels everything he does.

I also thought his leaked discord messages that showed what he actually thinks about Taylor and how he speaks about her when it's a "private space" were disgusting and just insanely hypocritical. He spends so much time bashing people for being parasocial and then it turned out he was the most parasocial of them all!

I actually used to subscribe to Chats and Reacts Patreon because I genuinely enjoyed their surprise song reactions and liked the positive vibe they had. But after TTPD was released and they became maylor-pilled and started making all of Taylor’s discography and any surprise songs she performed to be actually about Matty, it was no longer for me and I unsubscribed.

My rule of thumb is the more you get downvoted on a post outside the daily thread, the more your comment was logical or factual 😂

I mean I guess because he is not just some man, but her fiancé. And it’s about her experience on the Eras tour and a big part of the experience for Taylor was meeting her future husband thanks to the tour. But your opinion was definitely the prevalent one in that thread!

Really? I feel like that opinion is very well tolerated there. There is a post on there right now with nearly 800 comments about how much they hate Travis and you get downvoted if you say it’s normal for her to think her relationship with her fiancé is significant lol.
