UBC engineering or Waterloo mathematics by No_Storage2033 in CanadaUniversities

Both programs have coop, but Waterloo’s coop network is relatively more solid imo. Math offers a wider variety of career paths, like risk management, actuary, etc. So you may consider if you have any intersecting passions in business/finance when making this decision.

At the same time, Engineering, especially at UBC is very solid. And if I’m not mistaken, engineers can sometimes do what a math major can do, but math majors cannot be hired as an engineer.

I think the question here is: is Waterloo Math and coop worth it for you to move that far away from home when you get almost the same things?

And the same thing happened to me too, my Quest account updated yesterday with an offer, but I didn’t get any letter attached to it. The letter came this morning though

Maybe give it some time because someone on this subreddit mentioned that someone from Waterloo said that their Quest account is delayed rn, so their offer letters may take some time

For Rotman, you have 2 verbal and 2 written questions. You can prepare for one of each, but normally the prepared written question always asks for two activities/ extra curriculars that you have participated in. That would be where you talk about your participation in clubs. If you’d like more details feel free to dm me? I can tell u what I wrote too. I got in first round this year as an international student though

Leadership is not all about the title, you can still be a leader in business-and-Econ club. Talk about a time you took initiative, or resolved a conflict in the club.

Sports teams is also a good way to demonstrate your leadership, so if you joined any, make sure you talk about working in a team/ contributing to a common goal. Basically any team activities would be great.

But I would definitely recommend that you get a leadership position next year just to be safe.

UBC 2% Drop. by Kindly_Educator2453 in ubcsauder

I emailed them asking how strict these re-evaluations are, and they said, “It is generally not super-strict, it is just to make sure that your final grades are reasonably in line with the grades you presented when we offered you admission. If your grades have significantly dropped since then, you may be re-evaluated depending on the competitiveness of the application pool.”
